The "Jagstheimer House" on Marktplatz is so called because Mayor Jagstheimer built it in 1448. About half a century later, the most famous guest of this house from Bavaria was the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. In 1571, with the death of the last heir, the Jagstheimer family lost control of the house. During the Thirty Years' War, there lived Burgomaster Nush, the one who, according to legend, won the famous bet from the commander Tilly. The fact of his residence here is more real than this bet. Maria's pharmacy has been operating in the building since 1812 to this day. Around this time, the house was rebuilt in the Baroque style. In 1987, pharmacist Friedrich Stegmann acquired the pharmacy. At the moment, this is the fifth family of owners.

The market square has many beautiful famous old houses, one of them is the Marien Apotheke. This colourful timber-frame house is near the main square. The building has a statue of Holy Mary on its corner. It’s worth some photos.

We could not pack distilled water for my husband's CPAP machine. We found it here. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Staff was very helpful and knowledgable. I love all the remedies and herbal teas. They also had great skin care products.

The half-timbered house at the Markplatz and next to the Town Hall was Marien Apotheke, It was a pharmacy.with its original name Jagdstheimerhaus. They have wide selection of medicine products while their staff there were knowledgeable in such a way that incomers would find them helpful in solving medical enquiries.

Since 1812 until today you will find a pharmacy in this building. Originally the house is named "Jagdstheimerhaus". The mayor Jagstheimer let it built in the year 1448 and had a lot of prominent visitors. One of the most famous visitor has been the emperor Maximilian I, but the legendary mayor Nusch was living there in this wonderful Patrician house too.

This pharmacy is across the street from the Rathaus, so perfectly, centrally located. Fortunately, the pharmacist spoke English, so the wife and I were easily able to get what we needed. Don't let its small interior fool you. They have storage in the basement with a lift that sends ordered products to the counter. It only took a couple of minutes for the whole transaction.

This very nice half-timbered house boasts a statue of the Holy Mary on its corner and gives a significant tribute to the Middle Ages atmosphere to the whole square.

This is truely a signature building in the Town Sqaure. We saw it both in the day and at night and the character and charm were ever present. Definitely a great photograph to remind you of your visit to the charming town.
