Despite his strong accent, the Night Watchman's English is very good, and I learned so much on this excursion. It is BY FAR the most outstanding guided tour I've ever taken. The same Watchman has been doing this for more than 25 years, and yet he still presents it with enthusiasm and humor. Having this history lesson taught right there... More

The tour begins in the town square and is conducted by the “Night Watchman”, dressed in period garb. The tour takes a little over an hour, and is a leisurely walk as you learn the history of Rothenburg. Not only is the tour informative, but it is very entertaining, thanks to the wit and humor of the Night Watchman.

On a changeable day we hung around for the 8pm tour in English having checked out the reviews on Tripadvisor and we, as so many others have, had a great time. Our 10, 12 and 14 year olds were all wondering why we were there and what was in it for them but within a few minutes they were listening... More

It was cold but we were well bundled and it wasn't a problem. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this. All ages were in our large group and he kept all our attention. It took about an hour and it was a combination of walking and standing. While he leads the walk he does move at a brisk pace, so keep that... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The nightwatchman stayed in character the whole time. He gave us a lot of history on his job as well as the history of Rothenburg. Very interesting and entertaining!

The night watchman has such a great personality for this role. He electrified the audience and intrigued those young and old. Great sense of humour as well!

The nightwatchman is absolutely entertaining - amazing narration of the town's history with facts and humour. Our children age 12 and 9 thoroughly enjoyed this 1-hour walk through the Old Town of Rothenburg. We did the walk in late December - yes it was cold but absolutely beautiful. You pay 8Euro at the end of the walk into Georg's hat.... More

Before journeying to Rothenburg a colleague had recommended that we experience the Night Watchman tour here. It was a great recommendation. Being the only pure English native speaker in our family party I decided to attend the 20:00 evening tour in English accompanied by our Hovawart dog - the only dog in attendance that evening. The rest of the family... More

I went during early December so the town was lit up beautifully with Christmas lights while on the tour. They offer both German and English tours and the night watchman was very entertaining. It's great for adults and older kids but due to the length of the tour( 1 hour) it was too cold for my smaller children to last... More

Excellent tour with the Night Watchman tonight. My kids, 7 and 3, both enjoyed it as well. I'm so glad we detoured our trip to include Rothenburg. Great medieval city!
