Quaint, lovely town

Loved the old town of Rothenburg; quaint, easy walking all over town. Very friendly people. Were there for the small Christmas market and it was great.

Amazing small medieval town with city walls and towers - you have to see it at night and then in a daylight. It looks absolutely different, but I don't even know which view is better : at night most impressive are Christmas market shops of traditional toys, in daylight - city walls and colorful Old town houses. Really one of... More

We stayed here 25-28 December and though 99% of the shops were closed, we did find a few restaurants opened. Take the time to walk around the Old Town and its walls, it's quiet and beautiful during the holiday season. At night, there are a few stalls of mulled wine opened inside the town hall and it was very festive... More

We were here for the Christmas market, what a great experience. The brots the hot wine the decorations, what fun. We stayed Christmas and Christmas eve, in Germany everything closes by 2:00 pm on Christmas eve even most restaurants. Thank goodness our hotel took limited reservations or we would have hungry for Christmas. It was like stepping back in time.

This is a great place for German gifts. The baked goods are out of this world. I would recommend getting some chocolate cake.

This would be the main attraction to the town. Beautiful and quaint. Try and get up early and take photos before the crowds. You will be pleased you did.

Last October I made a trip to Romantic roads in Germany. Many towns are so nice that hard to pick up the best one. Though Rothenburg is absolutely top3 villages around Romantic roads. The town is such a small city, you can get around in a half day. But there are so many wonderful scenery and handmade artcraft shop. It... More

We came for just one night stay and could have enjoyed another easily. This old town is well preserved and so beautiful in every possible way. When you walk around the perimeters of the old town, to the west side you can step out and enjoy the valleys and hills just outside and take in the beautiful surrounding. The old... More

Rothenburg is very beautiful walled and well preserved little town. I highly recommend visiting Rothenburg for people who want to cherish the charm of German. The semi-tempered houses reflect a beautiful picture of the medieval age village. We enjoyed every moment exploring the narrow roads and mixing with tourists from all over the world.

It was nice to visit at Christmas time. The market had great atmosphere and the shops had lovely decorative windows and lots to buy. Town is well kept and clean.
