The Gerlachschmiede has the distinction of being a truly triangular building. We were there early one morning, so weren't able to go inside, but it is right up against the town wall near one the better-known gates.

The Gerlachschmiede is also as popular as Das Plonlein for it photogenic qualities. When you enter through the Rodertor turn left and follow the wall for just a little ways. This house will be behind you on your right hand side. I actually walked past it and when I asked for directions, the gentleman pointed behind me. You can also... More

This Gerlachschmiede or Old Forge is a pretty building. You can pass it on the street or see it from the walls. I took plenty of photos of it. It is near the Rodertor. Definitely, get a photo.

I walked past Markusturm (highly recommended) to get here, and though it was OK to look at, but then I walked along the town wall (must see attraction) and the view of the house was even better.

In a town filled with many places to grab a photo, this ranks up there. So photogenic. Be sure to have room on your memory card.

This is highly photographed spot/building in Rothenburg. The best view is from the walkway on top of the wall. It is located a short distance from the main gate into the town.

Nice and beautiful looking building and not more than that. Fits great into the city. You can enjoy this beautiful house from the city walls or at the street.

The tour guide said that this building is one of the most photographed in the city and I can see why. It's a pretty cool old building. The whole city is very well preserved.

But not at night, we walked down at night to see if it was nicely lit for a night shot but it wasn't. If you walk CCW around the walls you can't miss this place on the eastern side of the city.

A really cute tutor style house which stands near one of the Castle gates. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to see this house but it was cute. We happen to be passing by.
