We walked up to the castle- it was an easy walk that was enjoyable. We paid the nominal fee to get into the museum. The museum itself is interesting with a cool green fireplace. The best is climbing up into the tower to see the...More

Wasn't open when i visited on middle of March, 2017. Quite disappointed, thus, not really to see around in town area too. Very dated. So move on to Neuschwanstein instead.

Didn't go inside but strolled around the grounds, gardens and any small parts that were open. The castle is notable for the illusionistic paintings on the facades that date back to 1499. These are quite unique apparently, in German late-Gothic architecture.

We arrived here late afternoon. The town has plenty of shops, restaurants and accommodation. Following a sudden long peal of bells we walked up to the castle which has fake ornamental features painted on it. There are mountain views from the town.

This castle is right by the more popular one. It is very cool in itself and is much older. It is up on a hill and over the town. It's an easy walk up. Worth the time.

Expensive and very short guided tour, which ignored some important aspects of the castle. The owners appear to be exploiting the many visitors
