The Rothenburger Tor, at the end of Dr Martin Luther Street, was the last of several Tors that we saw during our tour of Dinkelsbühl. Like all the others, it was in excellent condition, having survived the 30 Years War.

For anyone not from a medieval city, which is probably 99% of visitors, driving through the narrow Tor and emerging to see the ancient buldings is an exceptional experience!

We did an early morning walk around the city walls in Dinkelsbuhl and found all four gates and several other places of historic interest. This is an ancient plate. Cannot walk the ramparts, access doors are locked, but it's still a good walk on a nice day in Dinkelsbuhl.

Expect to walk a fair bit if you decide to walk the town wall and catch different views of the city as well as the outer parts of Rothenberg. Nice to walk in the morning as it is still cool. Different exits will bring u to different sites to explore. Worth the walk to have a look of how the town would be back in the day. …
