This well preserved town shows off its history. The bridge leads to well maintained medielval and renaissance building which are part of a still bustiling town, admittedly based on the tourist trade but one well worth visiting.

The Danube is so beautiful and the city of Regensburg sits on it's banks and charms the visitors. It is nice to walk around it, not too overwhelming.

While the ancient city of Regensburg might be better known and offers the most sights and old buildings, do not forget Stadtamhof. This part of the city is also and absolutely justified part of the UNESCO heritage.

We throughly enjoyed walking the streets and visiting many sites witin Regensburg as the fourth-largest city in the State of Bavaria. In 179, a new Roman fort was built during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius on the most northerly point of the Danube, today it's the core of Regensburg's Old City.

This beautiful town has Cafes, small Restaurants, shops and a huge Church. To enter the Old Town you walk across a bridge over the Danube River.

Beautiful medieval town on the Danube. Original buildings, mostly because this town was not severely hit by bombardments in WWII. Very nice bridge and this town has an good atmosphere.

As a shipping and trade area, this old area on the Danube River is filled with places that are not to be missed. Lots of history here and some excellent stores for shopping. Scenic.

We really enjoyed our visit to this very well preserved and historic old town whose origins date back to Roman times. Situated on the banks of The River Danube it offers a great deal to the visitor, historical, cultural and social. A city we would happily return to.

There's plenty to see and do in Old Town. Located on the Danube River, the Old Town of Regensburg with Stadtamhof is an exceptional example of a central-European medieval trading centre, which illustrates an interchange of cultural and architectural influences. Plan to spend a couple of days so you can explore all the area.
