A great place to have a birds eye view of Nuremberg city. The way from main station to the castle hosts different attractions that can be explored

The self guided tour was worth the hike up the hill. Castle was remodeled many times with additions from the time it was first built. Great history and displays.

I have been here for a walk to visit this castle. The mainpart was closed. The outer ring of walls and walkways are not too much spectacular. It seem to be the only hill in nürnberg. If the weather is fine then you have a great view.

We did a walking tour up to Nuremberg Imperial Castle atop a rocky outcrop. Construction of this spectacular fortress began around the year 1,000. It has been under siege four different times over the years but was never breached. There are two entrances to the fortress. One is on the south side and is up a very steep slope with... More

Unfortunately, it was under construction while we were there which was a bit distracting though it was still beautiful. We did not do a tour or go inside but wish we would have as it would have been nice to learn about it's history and significance. Once at the castle, there are beautiful panoramic views of the city. The gardens... More

It's a steep climb up through the town but worth it for the views and the history of the castle. Self guided tour allows you to take your own time. The gardens are very attractive

I guess I've seen too many other castles that were amazing to give this one a better than average score. It's okay and if in Nurnberg you have to see it but don't expect a lot. Basically everything is in German. Just take a walk around the castle and see the beautiful sites on the hill and take some pictures.... More

We were on a Viking Cruise this was the 1st stop on our tour. The guide was very knowledgeable & gave us a good overview and history of the castle and it's time period. You have a beautiful view of the city of Nuremberg. It was a step back in time as we viewed the fortress. They lived a hard... More

Nice to visit; under some renovation now; and easy to reach by feet. No possibility to go there by taxi or car.
