About
World history was written in the courtroom of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice. This is where leaders of the Nazi regime had to answer for their crimes before an international tribunal between November 20, 1945, and October 1, 1946. The trials had an enormous influence on the development of international criminal law right up to the present. Courtroom 600 remains a working courtroom to this day. The Nuremberg Trials Memorial ("Memorium Nürnberger Prozesse") is an information and documentation center located on the top floor of the Courthouse. In approximately 700 square meters of space, it provides insights about the defendants and their crimes, the Nuremberg Follow-Up Trials of 1946–49, and the impact of the Nuremberg Trials up to the present.

Highly educational but I wish the originals had been kept

The Nuremberg Tribunal is a very important chapter in history. The curator has done a good job in telling this story.
The audio guide (scanned code and listened on your own phone) provides rich background information. The videos are very interesting to watch. It gave me chills to watch and hear Goering acting out during the trial.
I only wish that the local government hadn't decided to dismantle the court and had preserved it in its original form for history's sake. I understand the need to move on, but learning from history is the best way, and probably the only way, to move onto the right path.

Site of the Nurnberg War Trials
Dec 2019
This site is a little out of the way to get to (reached by U-bahn (subway) and then walking a moderate distance) but worth the effort, especially for WW II history buffs. You can actually go into the courts where the trials were held. Excellent museum documenting the trials as well. Allow at least 2 hours.

Important sight that could have been presented more effectively
Dec 2019
I found the Nuremberg Palace of Justice a bit disappointing. It was certainly interesting to see the centerpiece of the tour, the actual courtroom where the trials took place. However, the balance of the visit suffered, in my opinion, from information overload. There was very little in terms of artifacts in the visitor center, so the story told through the audio guides relied on photos and text on illuminated displays. I felt that better organization of the audio tour to give high level information on each exhibit with the ability to drill down more deeply if desired, would have been preferable. Instead, the audio tour simply read in English what was on the displays in German, including each and every photo caption in detail.

Necessary Historical Visit
Dec 2019
It was here in courtrooms 600 that the trials of the leaders of the Nazi party were held following the Second World War. Being in the courtroom itself is moving, and there is a very informative display in the upper floor. Unless your German is good, you'll want to take the (included with the ticket) audio-guide to get the most out of your visit.

Amazing
Dec 2019 • Couples
This is outside the city centre and we talk a walk to the courts - it was about 30 minutes so not too bad really.

This is an amazing place and:

1. Educational - brings history to life
2. Informative
3. Thought provoking

The courts have a prison next door. Both in use and amazing to think of the key staff of the Nazi regime stood trial and were imprisoned in the building.

Well worth the visit. A must!

Somber - Excellent Historical Displays
Dec 2019 • Couples
The Palace of Justice is nestled in what is now a quiet, suburban neighborhood which is easily reached by U-Bahn or team in about 10 minutes from the city center. It is still a working judicial center and courthouse. For the price of admission you can visit and enter the famous Courtroom on the second floor where the war trials took place, as long as it is not in use. The day we visited we were able to enter the courtroom, sit for a while, take some photos. The floor above the courtroom contains a comprehensive exhibit on the trials. It consists of several rooms of photo displays with an excellent audio guide. This is well worth the visit if you have any interest in the historic events that occurred there after the war. Give yourself about 1 1/2 to 2 hours at the site.

A part of the Nuremberg Trial Complex that once you are there, might as well see it all at one time.

Highly recommend visiting
Dec 2019
Well worth visiting, spent over 3 hours here, firstly in Court 600 where the Nuremberg War Trials were held. Best to check the court is open as it is still used for current cases, if closed there are small windows for viewing but being inside the courtroom gives a better experience.

It is located not far from the Barenschanze stop on the underground. Entrance fee is just 6 euros.

Another floor in the building has a great deal of information in pictures and words (German) of the trial and the processes, the wand given out for translation is great and easy to use.
