I believe that this building has been rebuilt on its original locale since most of the city was destroyed during WWII. The bottom half is brick (which would not have been used in the Middle Ages) and the upper half is timber. It now houses...More

A very big building but with not a very special architecture.Placed in the center of old town,in a busy area.In the past it used to be the customs house.Now it houses different shops and a good traditional restaurant -Barfusser.

Huge midieval structure, half timbered and stone construction. Located right on the main thoroughfare The Konigstrasse in the Old Town.. Originally a granary and customs house, it now serves as a department store!!! Oh well, I guess that's progress!

It's right across from the Gideon Hotel where I was staying so I got a great look at this restored toll hall: intricate beauty.
