Tiergarten Nuremberg is set in an extraordinary and unique landscape. By taking a walk through the large, densely wooded park the visitors discover open-air enclosures skilfully fitted into the red sandstone of the region. Watch dolphins and sea lions swim and play in the open air at the Dolphin Lagoon. Explore life at the Amazon, complete with rainfall periods, at the Manatee House. Go to the Blue Saloon with its vast panorama windows and experience the fascinating underwater world of both manatees and dolphins. Children will love the Kinderzoo, where they can pet animals and discover a lot more...

The zoo provides contact with the animals and with the environment. It is clear to the visitor that the animal has its own biome when going close to their space. The cages are big, which provide a good quality of life for the animal and also looks as much as possible like the real habitat of the animal. I recomend... More

I would add this to my list of good zoos- great lay out, animal selection and care given to the animals and their habitats. Add to that the vastly shaded trails and attention to the native flora on the paths you have a great zoo- up there with San Diego and Cincinnati zoos - my 2 favorites. One thing that... More

Let me summarize the pros and cons of this nice Zoo: Pro: - The Zoo is laid out like an extensive, beautiful, hilly park; you can wander for hours. - There are a large amount of free parking spaces; if you are early, you can literally park in front of the Zoo in the wide access road. A bit farther... More

We like zoos that care for the captive animals they have and Nuremberg is at the top of our list!. Easily accessible by tram from the main station outside Hauptbahnhof which drops you off virtually at the zoo gates - perfect. Layout of the zoo is quite unusual in the sense that the enclosures are spread around the vast woodland... More

Nuremberg zoo isn't the biggest of zoos, but it has beautifully designed enclosures for the animals and makes for a great trip. The tropical house and the sea house where you could see seahorses and dolphins under water were especially cool. The tigers and lions however had ridiculously small enclosures, which made us regret our contribution to this in buying... More

I spent a rainy day in the zoo and had amazing fun! I was surprised with the size of the zoo and with the amount of space that the animals have on their enclosures! The tropical forest enclosure (manatee house) is really impressive! A must see for zoo lovers!

The park was moved by Hitler to its present situationand is among the biggest in Europe. The dolphin enclosure is Europes best, the Manatee house really cool. But no elephants

I must preface this review with two disclaimers. First, it was a school day for Germans, and second, it was raining and overcast. Why does that matter? Well, my family and I seemed to have the entire zoo to ourselves. We spent 3 hours there and saw maybe 10 other people in total. The weather was perfect for many of... More

This is one of the most amazing zoos out there. The Dolphins were the highlight for my kids. I did have some issues though. If you have sensitivity to smoking this will be difficult for you. I don't want to be around it and I definitely don't want my kids around it. Apparently it is perfectly fine at the zoo.... More

Nice variety of animals, even dolphins. Easy to explore, spent half a day on Sunday, plenty of people. Good food & drink, decent prices
