Spent a lovely day learning all about car manufacturing. Recommend the premium factory tour. The guide was excellent in imparting knowledge. Saw areas like the robotic assembly lines, the painting lines, and the ‘supermarket’ areas for accessories. The Welt feels like a gigantic showroom but...More

The BMW welt is a true joy for car enthusiasts. They have a whole car range from their good old days to the futuristic ones. They have a tiny little 2 seater you can take a ride in. They also have a virtual car ride...More

Factory tour was well done. However the welcoming employees were not that friendly and sent me in different directions. Neat place if you were to take delivery of your vehicle.

Nina Jia made out experience at BMW Welt so amazing! I learned so much about BMW and enjoyed sitting in the latest models. The motorcycles are also so cool. I cannot wait to come back and pick out a new car one day!

Very interesting if you like cars & motorcycles, but essentially a very fancy showroom - nothing really for young children.

I've booked before and not had too much trouble. You do have to book several weeks in advance. Well worth it, so recommend to keep trying. You could also try calling: Tel.: +49 /0)89 / 1250 16001

Attraction for a 7-year-old? (4 Replies)
Hi, We will be in Munich for our holiday 6 July - 11 July. We are a couple in mid 30s and a 7 year old son. We will rent a car during our stay. We planned visit to Legoland, Deutsches Museum, BMW Welt, Nympenburg Palace. Are there any other attractions you would recommend us? Any other amusement park around? Especially on these days, are there any festivals? We are not so much museum type, but museums especially welcoming to kids would be perfect. And we do not like walking a lot. Places...More

There is a toy museum in the old town hall in Marienplatz. Just round the corner, Viktualienmarkt which is a regular food market but could be inetresting to both kids and adults. Watch the surfers on Eisbach. The Perfect Wave is to be found at the southern end of Englischer Garten just next to Haus der Kunst, best watched from the bridge of Prinzregentenstraße. As soon as weather conditions are friendly the surfers are there. Climb the steeple of Old St Peter for the view. Hellabrunn...More

Munich - Good city for a short break with a 7 year old? (6 Replies)
Hi to everyone on the Munich forum, I realise there are a few threads relating to holidays with children in Munich but would still be grateful for any advice. I am looking for somewhere to take my son aged 7 for a city holiday in July or August, probably for 5 nights, just him and me. It is supposed to be a trip which has something educational but also lots of fun. His only request for the trip was to go to a museum with vehicles. After looking at a few European cities Munich is looking...More

Hi, can anyone please advise which train tickets/day tickets that's suitable for my trip? We have 4 adults and 1 child ( 10 years old ) and will reach Munich airport at 6:30am. We plan to go to Munich central station to drop off our luggages at the hotel in central station. Then we plan to go to Neuschwenstein castle and back to central station on the same day. Should I buy group airport city day ticket to travel from airport to central station? And then buy group Bayern day ticket from...More

> Should I buy group airport city day ticket to travel from airport to central station? Only if you arrive on a weekday. On Sa, Su and public holidays Bayern Ticket is valid from midnight on and would cover thus this trip. > And then buy group Bayern day ticket from central station to travel to Fussen(Neuschwenstein)? You can buy it already at the airport. Note that you'll need a Bayern Ticket for 5 persons. > Should I buy 1 day group ticket to Olympiazentrum and back to...More
