My hubby and I just completed another wonderful tour with Scott and Vonia Stephens, the incomparable duo who are certainly the “Best” in the “The Best of Bavaria” tour!! Five years ago, we went on their 5 day tour through Munich, and couldn’t wait to return for their expanded Bavarian trip after a Corona hiatus. The venues we visited included magnificent castles (Neuschwanstein & Herrenchiemsee, notably), historic sites (the Eagle’s Nest, Rothenburg), and the most beautiful locations displaying nature’s majesty (Königssee and Reuter). Of course, there were festivals (we watched the cows really “come home” in Nesselwängle), along with the biggest party of all, Wiesn, which most people know as Oktoberfest. Scott and Vonia provided a quality tour; accommodations with inn keepers who treated us like family, authentic German food (yes, delicious wiener schnitzel and real pretzels) and of course, the fantastic beer!! Scott’s recitation of German history and folklore (sometimes in flawless German) was both fascinating and informative. And, lest I forget, the greatest group of fellow travelers, attracted like us, by the variety of experiences provided by Scott and Vonia. Be sure to check out this best of “The Best of Bavaria” tours. You won’t regret it!! PROST!!

Scott and Vonia were wonderful hosts on the Oktoberfest Beer Lovers tour. The trip began with a journey to Bamberg for two nights staying in hotel rooms at a working brewery. We were able to tour Bamberg and experience many of the great breweries in town while experiencing wonderful weather. Then we traveled back to Munich and spent four nights there. We had a day where Scott and Vonia took us on a very informative tour of Munich. The highlight of the trip were two visits to the “Wiesn” as the locals call Oktoberfest. We had reservations at the Augustiner tent. The first reservation was an evening reservation and the second reservation was during lunch. It was nice to be able to experience the different atmosphere during the day and at night. This is the third trip I have taken with BayernTrips, and all three have been excellent! I would never go to Oktoberfest without being on a trip with BayernTrips.

Scotti and Vonia are the ultimate tour guides, and now friends! My husband and I joined them for their one week Beer Lovers Tour, during which we visited Bamberg and stayed in a working Brewery! A lovely city, and Scotti knows all the ins and outs of Bavaria. He is highly entertaining and knowledgeable, and the whole week was very organized and balanced between touring and free time. We visited a monastery, had lunch in a castle, ate delicious local foods and visited several biergartens for of course, THE BEER! The highlight had to be Munich and our two Oktoberfest sessions - yes, two days! A bucket List experience, and we did it with some great new friends. Overall a great week, I was nervous about a group tour but we were all family by the end. I would definitely travel with Scotti and Vonia again! If Germany is on your list, BayernTrips is the way to go!!

We had a GREAT time on this trip. Scott and Vonia do a wonderful job with the Christmas Market tour. The hotels are small, well managed facilities with excellent locations. Meals are very well planned with the local cuisine. Transportation between cities is well coordinated. Scheduled time and free time is very well balanced. Even during free time, Scott and Vonia are always available should any questions arise. Scott's knowledge of the markets, history, beer, etc is amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend a tour with them!

Went on the best of Bavaria tour with Bayerntrips and every day was a great adventure! Saw some beautiful sights and Scott and Vonia ran a very organized but fun trip! Good food and different beer selections in several regions! Great getting to know your small tour group since you spend alot of time with them! Would totally recommend this trip! This trip was in September and weather was great!

10 day tour of Bavaria with an emphasis on Munich and Octoberfest. 3 nights each in in 3 different hotels...all of which were wonderful, spread out across southern Germany and Northern Austria. Historic churches, beautiful castles, amazing vistas of the Alps. Shopping in historic cities in different countries, wonderful small restaurants with local cuisine, and the best places to enjoy the product of ancient brew masters!
The tours are guided by Scott and Vonia Stephens. They are wonderful hosts, very knowledgeable about the local culture, history and people. Together they help to make everyone on the tour feel part of the community and be part of Bavaria, whether it is a small farming community festival in the alpine valleys, experiencing a 500 year old salt mine, shopping in Salzburg or going to the much anticipated “Wiesn” or Octoberfest in Munich! Definitely a trip worth taking, and then planning the next adventure with Bayern Trips, whether it’s a multi day tour or day trip!

I had visiting Oktoberfest on my "bucket list" and also am a HUGE history buff. I was also wanting to celebrate my wife's and my 10 year anniversary as well as her bday! So I was looking for a tour that would check off a lot of boxes, and I not only found the perfect one with Bayern Trips, it went above and beyond my expectations due to Scott and Vonia! From all the cities we stayed in, and places we toured, everything was outstanding. If I tried to do this on my own I NEVER would have visited one of the 5 oldest breweries in the world or the "Willy Wonka" of breweries. I also would not have had a private wine tasting in Franconia, or had such an outstanding guided tour through Munich. All I can say, is don't over think it and let the experts do their thing. Such a unforgettable experience. You will not go wrong selecting Bayern Trips for your Germany experience!

If you're ever blessed with an opportunity to visit the Bavarian region of southern Germany, Austria, & Munich during Oktoberfest, I can't imagine a better experience than Scott Stephens' "Alpine Adventures 10-Day"! Every aspect of Scott's tour was SO very well-planned! The itinerary excellent, the pace perfect, the lodging amazing & the laughter was pretty much non-stop! The fact that Scott speaks very fluent German & currently lives in Munich provides him with a rich knowledge of the area. BTW, his keen sense of humor also factors into making this tour the absolute BEST experience imaginable.

This was really a dream trip for me. My mother was from Bavaria and I always wanted to visit Christmas Markets. I had VERY high expectations for this trip and was not disappointed. Scott and Vonia made my dream come true. The small hotels we stayed at were very clean and comfortable with fantastic breakfasts. The food at dinner was great. I was a bit worried about the smoked onion dinner, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Everyday began with a walking tour which allowed you to orient yourself when you had free time. The balance of group time and free time was just right. What really makes this tour so fantastic is Scott and Vonia. I felt like I was traveling with friends. They are so personable, helpful and fun to be around. I hope to go on another one of their tours someday.
Another great thing about the tour was that we went to places I would never have thought of going to like Bamberg. It turned out to be my favorite city on the tour. However, every stop had its own unique experiences. Scott and Vonia have a real talent for choosing towns and activities that provide the traveler with experiences and beautiful memories to last a lifetime.
I went with my sister and niece and we all really enjoyed the trip.

Scott and Vonia work very hard to provide an insider's view to Germany. They have family-like relationships with many of the people they do business with. If you go on one of their trips you'll likely be a newbie - I would guess perhaps close to 50% of their guests have been on a previous trip with them. Scott got us perhaps the best seats in one of the best Octoberfest tents - Augustiner - at the edge of the balcony so you didn't have to stand or strain your next to see the some 6000 revelers below.
One thing that surprised me is that they adjust the trip depending on weather and other circumstances and are not afraid to experiment with new things. At first I didn't get this, but it turned out that two of the most "obscure" experiences were ones I enjoyed the best. The first was a traditional German village ceremony, "Viehschied," where the cows come home from the fields in the fall and are decorated with cowbells as huge as their heads and are paraded through the streets. And to celebrate - you guessed it - the whole town drinks beer.
The second cool experience was a visit to a cheese making shop. I really had no interest in it until I began to understand the passion a and science of the process and I listened to how the manager is so passionate about what he does. The tour ended with the best tasting glass of milk I've had in my entire life.
Octoberfest (and Bavaria) were one of the most amazing experiences of my life and Scott and Vonia will treat you like family. Strap on your drinking boots and go.

What sre the charges for your various tours for two double occupancy?

Thanks for getting in touch. The prices vary quite a bit depending on the tour in question. My Starkbier and SpringFest tours are less expensive because the rooms are typically cheaper at that time of year and we use the trains and not private busses. We also only include breakfast on this trips. With Oktoberfest, Munich is really expensive, as you might imagine. For Christmas and Oktoberfest, we use more private transportation and include a major meal each day, plus a drink. Also, the tours are of various lengths of time. The prices are listed by each trip on the BayernTrips website.
