Maximum architectural beauty
Aug 2019
This is a historic building, built in 1874 by order of the King of Bavaria, Maximilian the Second. Since 1949, the Bavarian Parliament has been sitting in front part of the building. You can get inside exclusively in a group tour by prior arrangement. In general, this is a huge and very beautiful building, which was built in the neo-Gothic style and under the influence of Semper in the Renaissance style to many individual elements.

Amazing view of the city and the river. You also can have a nice walk in the park nearby. The place is not far from the city center.

Fantastic building over the Isar
Apr 2019 • Friends
I you walk the famous Maximilianstrasse in direction to the Isar river you will have always a look to this amazing building. Whose lavish backdrop architecture achieved this great distance effect and was built under King Max II from 1857 to 1874. The facade was designed in the style of the Renaissance with round arches, columns, mosaics and busts filled niches. The construction is dominated by the city side 150-meter-long facade, which is bounded on both ends by three storey open door arcades. Today, this grandiose building houses the Bavarian parliament.

Maximilianeum at night is very beautiful
Jun 2018 • Friends
When I was in Munich I spent most of my time walking around the city without using any map. And after the sun gone down, I was walking along the Isar river. Around 11pm I suddenly recognized a big statue on a bridge. Taking a walk to the statue just to realized that there was a beautiful building right in front of my eyes was one of my best experience in this city. The place was still light up at night and there were some local people at the place chilling and talking.
If you want to get to the building on foot, just walk along the river. By tram or underground trains there are also many ways to reach the place, very well located.
