We were really impressed with the size of this place and varieties of plants. Go to the orchid house and see all the turtles. In another house there is a huge old fish....over 50 years old...from India I think. Man he is ugly!

We live in Munich and the botanical gardens are great for a few hours on any day during the year. One of the great things is the yearly butterfly exhibit between December and March.

Even in winter the botanical garden is super place to visit. Of course time your visit wisely - come in early. Plenty of plants, cactuses, and till March 2017 also exposition of butterflies. There is even a dedicated area where one can have a quick bite. Ticket costs €5,50.

Around a week ago went with my family and two other families to visit the botanical garden in Munich and show the butterfly exposition to the kids. It was a pretty cold, but very sunny winter day so after spending some one hour inside with the butterflies and the turtles we decided to go out and do the round walk... More

Was a wonderful experience even in the cooler months of February. Great to go either rain or shine. The indoor botanical gardens are beautiful, especially the butterfly gardens.

We visited the Botanischer Garten in winter, so the conservatories were the only place worth visiting. The entry fee was just a few euros. There are a lot of different rooms, each with a different temperature and humidity, it's fun to wander from the desert to the tropics to the forest. Be sure to visit the room with the turtles,... Very well organised and diverse. With huge collections of all types of plants and flowers. It is a must see if you like to connect with nature, view beautiful flowers and animals, and maybe make a picnic on its surroundings.

No signage in English. We had a difficult time finding the entrance since the main greenhouse area was closed off. The displays were beautiful, however could have been cared for a little better. We stopped into the cafe for a quick beer and bite with no success. The waitress appeared to be speaking to us in English and writing down... More

This place is just amazing. Each time we go, we notice something different. There is a great amount of small wildlife. The tranquility of this place is beyond words and a place where you can unwind and you are free of certain "characters". Yes, you have to pay, but it is well worth it. The garden is kept really well... More

These gardens are well laid out with plants all very well labelled. The plant themes are explained. Its a large botanical gardens with hothouses, as well as sections devoted to the different types of trees which are all well named. The vegetable garden is laid out very well, and contained many plants which I had not seen growing before -... More
