Great Botanical Garden

This is a great botanical garden, with inside greenhouse exhibits as well as a lovely outside garden complex that is a very restful and beautiful way of spending an afternoon.

Huge gardens with greenhouses. You could wander around here for days and not see it all. Everything well tended and cared for. We could have used more English signage but if you knew the latin family names you basically knew what you were looking at.

For gardeners, this is a great place to wander and see new plants. I think even non-gardeners would enjoy the beauty. It is big, however, so lots of walking is required, and you definitely need the map that you get at the entrance to find your way around. It was raining heavily when I there, so some of the plant... Wanted to see the local plant life. Such a variety of plants on display and well shown and open so you get good vision.

The botanical garden was a little past its best in August , But still worth a visit . Well laid out with different themed areas and beds. The are plenty of seats to take in the atmosphere. We hope to return one spring to see it at its best.

My wife & I always visit botanical gardens, this one is one of our favorites. The extensive palace grounds would take hours to walk, there are several things to see in addition to the botanical gardens. Outdoor restaurants where nice.

A great way to spend a nice day in Munich. The outdoor gardens are extensive and the greenhouses are extremely well done. My favorite was the greenhouses with all the fish and the cactus room. They offer a student discount (regularly 4.5 euro down to 3) which is a fantastic deal for how much you get to see. Very impressed.

I am a plant person...so of course a botanical garden would be my favorite place in Munich. It's a very well-kept garden. A nice place just to visit and soak in the views. If you're visiting Nymphenburg Palace, there are trails out back that connect the two. Worth the visit.

This botanical garden is actually attached to a school and the plants are a "dictionary" or "sampler" of the different varieties. It is a lot of walking, plants are not as well marked or maintained as it could be, but it is still enjoyable. My favorite parts were the "economical gardens" and the formal garden area by the Botanical Institute.... More

We regularly visit botanical gardens when we travel and really enjoyed Botanischer Garten Muenchen. This display garden was designed and displayed beautifully. The plants were in perfect condition and the display was amazing. We had planned for 1.5 hours which was not near enough time. We added an hour and still could of used more. An oasis in the city.
