Entrance fee was around €6 cant remember exactly. The garden is big with lots to see but when we went at the beginning of September most of the gardens were out of season and finished flowering so spent our time looking at green shurbs. The first main area had plenty of beautiful flowering displays to look at but i think its worth finding out thr best months to vists.
The vegetable garden was our favourite as there was plenty to see.
Unfortunately the greenhouses were all closed off which made me think €6 wasn't worth the visit but thats just me.
I'm sure with a full display and open greenhouses it would be a bargain but unfortunately not during our visit.

The botanic garden deserves some times to enjoy the atmosphere... whatever the season the nature all around offer incredible peace and quite.
I think spring and fall are the best time to visit... late summer lacks at some points of flowers and their bright colours. Some nice spots offer relaxing spaces in full shade and waterfall as soundtrack.
Pavillions are full of magnificent spaecies of tropical plants.

Absolutely loved their gardens. Flowers, flowers, flowers! Incredibly colorful & filled with many flowers I had not encountered before. I could have spent days there! And besides the flower gardens, there were a variety of herb & bush gardens & water features, And there were plenty of places to sit & relax & enjoy the surroundings. It was the highlight of my trip to Munich!!!!

Beautifull place to visit. I went with my boyfriend at winter and we were really amazed. So much beautifull plants and the room with butterflys is expecially wonderfull. I just suggest that they make a english translation for everything because there were so many beautifull thing that we would like to read about. All in all, it is an amazing place and I suggest you visit it!

If you are looking to take yourself and/or the kids to a nice, exotic and dry place in winter the botanical garden is a great choice. The kids can stroll around the different houses and as a nice side effect learn something about plants and nature. They can watch big fish swimming and turtles wandering around the houses.

During December till March there is an awesome temporary exhibition with butterflies.

If you come off peak times you can even find a quiet space to relax.

My girlfriend and I visited the botanical gardens in December to find it full of tramps at 11.00am, including one urinating on a bush. Not quite what we expected, although there was a wide variety of tramps to look at.

To get there from Hauptbahnhof you need to take a tram line number 17 towards Amalienburgstrasse. Get off on the Botanischer Garten stop. Cross the road and walk 30-50 metres and you will see gates. Pass the gates and Walk straight on further 20 metres and you will see a small building where greenhouses are. There is a entrance fee 4€.
The greenhouses are huge so you need at least 2hrs to visit everything.
Highly recommended.
Thanks for reading.

This was one of the best botanical gardens we visited. The thematic organization of the plants was easy to follow. There was a large variety of plants to enjoy. On a nice day, it's an absolute pleasure. We combined this with a visit to the nearby Nymphenburg Palace and Park.

It's a great place for a stroll or a break from the city. Nothing special, you won't be impressed by this. Botanical gardens in other cities are more impressive. If you're only here for a few days, skip this place.

For me, who am a biologist, this visit to the Botanical Garden was worth it. The place has beautiful plants and virtually all plants have identification of their scientific names. A dream for the botanists! It is possible to have lunch in the restaurant that is inside the Garden and overlooks a rose garden. It is also possible to extend the visit to the palace of Nymphenburg, which is right next door.
