The second (top) floor is the only floor open so half of the museum was unavailable. Even though they were advertising a special Vermeer Exhibit, there was only one painting of his on display...that said it is a remarkable collection on the second floor and...More

The museum was a bit difficult to figure out - we recommend doing a bit of research before you go. It's not large, just laid out in confusing ways with little English signage. We got a combined, senior ticket - so it's quite affordable.

Part of the Pinakothek collection, this museum emphasis on design and print. This is a specialty museum and you should check if this is for you before you go.

This collection focuses on Art and Design in the 20th Century with as you might expect a focus on German artists. A walk through the design section is well worth the trip downstairs with Eames Chairs and storage units mixing with Bauhaus and Danish design....More

There is hardly any art of note to see in this museum. A lot was closed off. Some forgettable non art and only a room or two of proper modern art. Don't pay to see this save your energy for the Alte and Neue. Don't...More

The building itself is unusual and impressive but the exhibitions are even more impressive. For sure it is not the biggest museum for modern art, but the pieces they show are from many important artists and we loved the design exhibition most. Gives a good...More

Yes on the ground floor. It doubles as a cafe and restaurant. The food was very good when I was there.
