The Hellabrunn Zoo is really huge, it has a couple of entrances because of it's sheer size. It is interesting in its entirety but strictly as a zoo, it is nothing impressive. The animals were not that many to start with and some of the rarer ones were moved elsewhere or were not available at the moment. I like the... More

If you are an animal lover, you will enjoy this zoo. If you enjoy a lovely walk in scenic surroundings, you'll also enjoy this place! The zoo was founded in 1905. The fact that it's still here today speaks volumes for its quality. There is an extensive variety of animals. There are also lots of chances to stop and sit... More

The Zoo has a really big territory which is designed in a nice style. There are a lot of different species here. Animals look quite OK and happy with their places.

Very relaxing and calm walk thru park, Animal habitats are nice and carefuly designed. My kid (7 year) felt at times a bit boring. There are small candy shops inside with reasonable prices. And also children playgrounds.

The worlds first Geo Zoo with animals grouped in habitats according to their places of origin. A wonderful place for big kids and little kids. Very relaxing to wander at your own leisure, although i can imagine it being very busy on a summer weekend.

Best zoo so far so me. And it is a big one. A lot of different animals, and fishes. Gorillas are so playful (and frightening :). Anteaters and tapirs so funny. And orangutans are just the best. You can get to the zoo by u-bahn. Thalkirchen station is very close. Or you can walk (1 hour) along the bank of... More

I was greatly appreciative of this park and zoo which was litealy steps from where we were staying. It is well laid out and obviously popular with the lcoals. It is easily accessible by subway with the stop immediately outside the entrance. There are also several markets and other establishments selling supplied for a picnic as well as pre-made sandwiches... More

While it is a beautifully landscaped zoo With large enclosures for the animals it makes me very sad to see all of these fantastic animals, large and small ones all locked up. It is obvious they are well cared for, but they are still locked up just like criminals who are also well taken care of in today's times. I... More
