Somehow I did not fancy the gate of Sendlinger Tor. Normally I am into art and architecture, but it was not an expirience I could not live without.

We took the U-Bahn from Munich Hauptbahnhof, got off at the Sendlinger Station and took a walk to the gate. Interest piece of architecture with historical significance.

Sendlinger Tor served as a fortification for the defense and is one of Munich's three remaining gothic town gates. It gives its name to the Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn station. Easy access therefore. Free visit.

Enjoyed walking through this historic gate. Nice walk from Marienplatz to Asam's Church and then Sendlinger Tor. Then we caught the U-Bahn to the BMW Museum.

One of the three remaining old city gates which still standing for about 700 years! My big curtsey for this historical place. It's located about 0.69 km south-west from the city centre.

It is one of the three city gates, but not so imposant than the others. No decorations, simple a big gate.

Walk around, soak in real 'Minga', as the natives say. Not as touristy as other equally beautiful parts of a gorgeous, meaningful town.

I loved the shops around the area. We walked from Marienplatz and chance upon this place. There is a small tea shop around the corner which has all sorts of tea from the ground to the top of the wall which serves as a great...More
