So it is a nice historic start to a shopping street but when we were there it was so busy you could barely stand still long enough to see it!

This old city gate marks the entrance to a very attractive shopping street. The gate is a nice piece of old architecture but noting more than that. I think more of Assam church and the shops in relation to Sendlinger Tor

Not that much to see but it is still a landmark in Munich which is very popular, close to the center's main attractions. So when in neighborhood pay a quick visit.

A large gate at the southern outskirts of the old town. Close to the Christmas market goods to be sold in Christmas market time.

Brick medieval gateway that has a cinema, cafes and shops nearby. There is a small shrine on the inside, where you can occasionally see people worshipping. This is at the end of a pedestrian shopping street.

Walking through the 'Sendlinger Tor' (Entrance) is like walking back into history; Munich used to be a walled town back in those days. Sendlinger Strasse is a great shopping location, with many fine stores; it connects to the Marienplatz.

The Sendlinger Tor is one of four medieval gates (circa 1317) left in Munich that originally offered access into Munich's Aldstadt. It is surrounded by modern building and you basically walk through it. If you like history, then you will be in awe, especially when...More

The arch itself was fairly unremarkable, but, the Sendlinger Tor U station was the most convenient to head out to the BMW Museum
