By the Chinese pagoda, there is a serve yourself, outdoor restaurant that is sensational. The choice of food is excellent, complemented by the excellent 'export' beers, served in steins. If it's raining, you can also eat indoors. Recommended!

From people surfing the fast flowing stream at the entrance to the impressive Chinese Tower, the extensive garden is full of relaxation. It can be seen at its best on a Sunday as families come in relays with Bavarian table cloths and picnics. Beer and huge pretzels are bought at the nearby bar.

What a vast expanse of well-kept parkland in the middle of a city. The public signage was good and the footpaths accessible to all.

I really liked the English Garden. When I entered (on foot) it was cloudy, but before long the sun came out and stayed out. I can't promise the same for everyone else, but give it a try! Lots of joggers, cyclists, dog-walkers, ducks, and winding paths. It was the winding paths that were the problem for me, though. Even though... More

A unique aspect of the gardens is the river surfing that goes on through the warmer months. Ask anyone where it is and watch the people navigate the wave that is created by the rushing water. The gardens are very busy during the warmer weather so don't be surprised if you see people scattered everywhere sunbathing with little to no... More

We walked to the bridge to see the surfers, and they really put on a show. We were there about 2 pm on a Wed. afternoon. Then we strolled through the gardens which were already beginning to show autumn colors. Nice way to spend a lazy afternoon.

Fat Tire Bike Tours of the English Garden were excellent! We stopped for lunch at an ancient Chinese Pagoda. The tour guide was super at keeping us safe and kept our 4 year old, who was riding a two wheeled bike, up with him to make sure he didn't get left behind. The English Garden will be be first on... We came here on our own and with a bike tour the following day. Both in sun and overcast this park is beautiful, full of life and quite large.

I first rode through the park with Mike's Bike Tour and I knew I would be back! Beautiful, green and serene! The paths are great to bike/walk on. There is a beautiful river flowing through the whole garden which is incredible. In certain areas, you will catch the surfers riding waves! The Chinese garden has delicious food. It's great for...
