With only two days in München, I’m glad we visited this park! We started in the south end, and walked for hours! There are several beer gardens and a nice lake where you can rent pedal boats. And a nice river going through the whole...More

This is my favourite place to walk around and unwind when I am in Munich. The trees, the grass, the flowing river, the pedestrian tunnels under the streets (which are decorated with beautiful works of art (graffiti)), the people surfing on the river, kids playing,...More

there is lots of space, not too many people where you can go to have a picnic, hire boats or just be.

Watching the surfers in the park is fun - then after a few minutes you realize how dangerous it seems. After watching them we walked to the Chinese Tower and had a quick bite to eat. A very nice diversion from the busy city.

The English Garden is a massive open space just north of the middle of downtown Munich. You can walk, quite literally for miles (OK, here you walk for kilometers), or settle into one of Munich's biggest beer gardens relatively close to the south end. The...More

It is just a huge park with a lot of activities but for a tourist, the park doesn't offer much. It sounds like a good place for locals.

This is great for a day out in the sun and there’s a river running through the park which is fab to swim in!

When we were there, there was an area by the river with (mainly old men) /people sun bathing naked. It wasn’t massively obvious and no one paid much attention. I think culturally Germans tend to be quite relaxed about... More
