What a great nature walk! I enjoyed the beer garden after the walk too, great pretzels! We also enjoyed watching the surfers, it is amazing they can do that using artificial waves. It is great for families, many different interesting places and great for photographers.

We really enjoyed getting away from the city and hanging out in the English Garden. It was packed with Germans on a Tuesday night hanging out, surfing (so cool!), and having some drinks at the beer garden. We really felt like we got to see "real" German life, as opposed to just the tourist view of Central Munich. Highly recommended.

Love park and river. Walked to the Chinese pagoda then got a bike taxi back to the river where we saw people surfing!

From a Chinese Pagoda to beer gardens to a natural surf wave to saggy naturists, the English Garden has something for everyone.

Summer, people, madels, Eisbach Surfen or Eisbach swimming. Lot's of students and common people, that's where Munich people are going to.

A great place to stroll, jog, cycle, walk the dog, picnic, have a bbq, have a party, visit beer gardens, visit normal gardens, commute, go to open air theatre performances, go naked (in certain areas)...just go.

You can spent a good half a day just walking around here. And when you're hungry and thirsty, stop by the Chinese Tower for some beer and sausages!

If you would like to enjoy a green Oasis in the middle of the city on a nice summer or snowy winter day...its the place to go. Bring your short surf board and a wetsuit to surf the Eisbach - a standing wave in very cold water. Beware of skinny dipping people in some of the areas of the park...close... More

The park starts from the city center and expands to the city limits where it becomes more natural and finally flows into nature. Several beergardens, shops, performance artists and games such as football, rugby, volleyball etc. can be joined or gone to. A lake boasts two natural breeding reservoirs for wild birds which can be gone close to by rudder... More

The English Garden was probably my favorite part of Munich. We rented bikes from Mike's Bike Tours and rode to the English Gardens. It's such a beautiful bike ride and a great place to picnic, people watch, or mingle with locals. The Chinese Beer Garden is there also which is a plus! I'd definitely recommend saving a day to just... More
