I like this garden very much. So quiet, a lake with boats and of course beer. Enjoy a peacefull day in the garden.

Munich had so much to offer and the Englisher garden is one highlight not to be missed. An oasis of nature, this sprawling garden provides weary "city worn" travellers respite to renew and relax in a beautiful setting. My husband, adult son and I strolled along the walking paths, soaking in the scenic environment, watching the ducks, sitting by small... More

This famous park is huge. Very popular for locals and visitors. Has a lazy river that runs throughout it that people love on summer days. River averages between 2-5 ft deep so easy to glide down without having to do much swimming. Many people go down with a beer or 2. Park also has a beer garden, many areas to... More

We entered the park at the southern entrance near the Residence buildings. We loved watching the Munich surfers on the river (an impressive sight). Come prepared with a towel to jump in the rapids and let them carry you downstream. Walk to the middle of the park for a beer stop (standard price food but expensive soft drinks). You don't... More

We rode through the park on bikes. You can drop a blanket and picnic just about anywhere. If you're inclined, you can swim and wade is river areas that run through the park as well.

I love natural environment contact and this garden offers more than what I have seen in other natural parks. Its a huge place with wonderful organization for bike rides, jogging or walking. Water flows all over so people enjoy swimming or taking the sun during summer time. There are some spots like the one with the tower to have a... More

Pretty gardens with nice boating lake. A shame there are no bikes to hire within the park. Great to watch the surfers on the river. Kirsty

Munich's version of Central Park but even more expansive. It's fun on a sunny day. Just grab a blanket and hang out. If you're thirsty have a beer at some of the beer gardens in the park or on its outskirts. If you get too hot join hundreds of Germans and take a dip in the Eisbach. The only fly... More

We visited the English Gardens on a really hot day, having walked there from the centre of Munich. The park was so beautiful and there was a lot to do. The beer garden in the park is awesome after a long walk in high temperatures and there was a Rapids style area of the river that you could swim in,... More
