Impressive very big park with fast running river. People swimming, biking and surfing in the river. There are many restaurants. It is good for sunny day. However, be careful some areas people are swimming or sunbathing nude, which was very strange especially when it is a park for families with kids and children.

Very natural park in the centre of Munich, laid out in the former hunting grounds. 2 great beer gardens, the most popular at the Chinese tower. Beware! Nude sunbathing is permitted along the Eisbach, which can be a bit of a shock if you're not expecting it.

A huge park full of different cafes, beer gardens etc. It has a beautiful river, local people swim in it. A perfect place to explore by bikes which we did

Kudos to the Germans for preserving this type of place in the city. This is a large quiet park we spent a few hours at in the morning. Lots of bikers, runners, sunbathers, and people just relaxing and hanging out. We sat by a large pond and just relaxed in the sun for a while. We saw some folks renting... More

You will find something for everybody. Bavarian Biergarden, taking a sunbath or jumping in the river. The beginning of the English Garden is the busiest part, with biergardens, people laying in the sun, playing ball or making music. If you go further to the north, you can find peaceful and quiet spots along the Isar river to relax and enjoy... More

The park itself is beautiful. Don't miss the Chinese Tower beer garden, probably the world's most famous, with people from all walks of life and a variety of countries ready to chat. Try the Bavarian food -- I especially recommend roast pork leg. Watch the surfers at the bridge at the south end of the park, the sunbathers along the... More

They have food stalls in there and you pay first before ordering the food. The food is priced normally and there are lots of seats in the English Garden to enjoy a great afternoon there. You can bring your own food along which will be better to save some pennies rather than buying the food from there.

Located in the centre of Munich, Englischer Garten is one of Europe's largest urban public parks with many attractions: Japanisches Teehaus (Japanese Teahouse), Surfing possibility, the Monotpteros (an Apollo temple), Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower) and a lot of nice restaurants and beer-gardens. It is always nice to walk around there.

Enjoyed lunch here. It is busy so be prepared. You enter the food area and there are several "stalls" with different foods. It is buffet style. You pay for each item you chose. You have a variety of choices so make sure to take the time to look and see what you want. The beer is the best part! Obviously!... More
