Easily accessible in western part of Munich, this Baroque Palace was built in the 1660's and expanded in the 18th Century. Home to the rulers of Bavaria, it is an opulent place. Very good audio tour too. The grounds / gardens are large and exquisite as well

The magnitude of the place is difficult to comprehend until you stand in front of the vast complex. The renovated rooms are beautiful and the immense gardens behind are a delight to explore. There is a lovely restaurant adjacent to the gardens and the entire complex can be easily reached by a zone one tram ticket.

The beautiful sprawling Chateau with amazing garden. There are canals, little lakes, labyrints and pitoresque buildings. Many places to the quite sitting in shadows of trees. Good tip for allday trip in Munich.

The free tour is mainly walking around the amazing and very large gardens. Any inside tours required ticket purchases...not sure how much. But the gift shop had beautiful (expensive) items and a very helpful, information-packed historical display.

The baroque palace was built in the 1600's as a summer house for the former rules of Bavaria. The palace had such insanely beautiful gardens and these were totally free to enter. With the sun back out we were free to spend a couple of hours walking around, amongst the dog walkers and joggers. The park sits in 490 acres... More

We spent a beautiful sunny afternoon walking around Nymphenburg Palace. The gardens had only been opened so some of the states were still covered but the gardens were still very impressive. The building is beautiful and it is a perfect opportunity for some impressive photographs!

The grounds are immaculately maintained with beautiful flowers everywhere. As long as the weather outside is nice, this place will be crowded.

Large palace with a variety of objects to view. Interesting as it was where the 1972 Olympic dressage was situated

This palace a few minutes outside Munich has spectacular buildings with well preserved interiors. The audio guide is worth getting as it has enough but not too much detail to make the commentary digestible and interesting The grounds were great to walk around with very colourful flowerbeds. Surprisingly the grass was not as well tended as expected - the verges... More

A little bit of a disappointment. We bought the ticket that allowed us to view all there was to see. It just seemed like it wasn't as kept up as other palaces we had been too. The part I did enjoy was walking the gardens. We walked and walked, but it was a gorgeous day and it led us to... More
