Out buildings and palace are beautifully kept

Main palace has beautifully displayed rooms but I most enjoyed the smaller palaces found about the palace grounds, especially Pagodenburg.

I only walked the grounds, didn't do the inside tour. The grounds were very big and nice, and free. You do need to leave your bike at the gate, but there are racks. You can see the buildings and walk the paths for a nice day out.

The palace is surrounded by huge gardens and lot of colorful flowers especially in summer. One can also try a boat ride (Venice style) in the canal behind the palace. The palace museum needs special entrance ticket but contains huge collection of Munich's royal porcelain, King Ludwigs chariots and sledges. I prefer visiting the museums than the palace interiors.

I had a guided tour from a friend and was very pleased. This was one of our first stops through out the night.

This is the equivalent of France's Versailles Palace. Amazing art, architecture and history at Nymphenburg. A must see when visiting Munich. Plan to spend half a day or longer here. So much to see and there is a cafe in the gardens of you need to rest. Tip: there is another cafe in the Children's science museum in one of... More

There is a bus stopping at the front of the palace complex. From the bus stop you have to walk for another 30 minutes to reach the palace's gate. The audio tour device is available at additional cost of €3.5 (check their website for accurate pricing). Exploring the palace can be done quickly as it is only 1 floor. I... More

We took the hop-on hop-off bus tour and got off to visit the palace. The lake at the front is live with swans, white and grey as well as many other birds. the entry to the place is a souvenir shop and we didn't know that you have to buy a ticket to get in, never mind it was worth... More

Nice Place, easy to reach with public transport. I suggest to take an audio guide. Palace has beautiful garden and small lakes (artificial) with a lot of swans and ducks.

A castle in the city. Abroad of London or Paris you will not find something like that in an europe metropolitan. A Hugh garden and historical monuments. Walk through the park, visit some classic concerts or enjoy the beautiful nature.

So lovely walking around these manicured grounds. Would be spectacular in spring and summer when the many flower beds are in bloom. Massive building but the main focus for us was the peaceful grounds.
