About Big Hat Tours
Munich City, Third Reich, Dachau, Salzburg, Nuremberg and Neuschwanstein and other Ludwig II Castles. A tour with Curt Milburn is like having a welcoming family friend show you around Munich. Curt's been called "The Wikipedia of History". He specializes in small group and private tours. Tours are tailor-made and Curt finds out what YOU want to see. His City Tours go beyond canned, set routes. You'll see the famous sites, architecture, learn about kings, Hitler, foods and beer. Our Third Reich Tours delve deep into more than when, but why and how the Nazis came to power and you'll see the bombed buildings of Hitler. Curt's Dachau tours are sensitive and remarkably moving and his Neuschwanstein and Castle tours are great fun. Salzburg & Nuremberg are within your reach with Big Hat Tours! Every tour is accompanied by an Apple i-Pad with hundreds of photos to put you into history.

Curt is super knowledgeable about the events that led to the rise of Hitler, and gives a lively description in front of the important buildings where these events took place.

We had a brilliant time with Curt - we learnt a lot about the city of Munich, and laughed a lot too. Curt has an excellent historical knowledge, balanced with a cracking sense of humour. Would highly recommend taking the city tour, and will certainly do another of Curt's tours in the near future. All in all, a fantastic day out!

After taking Curts great city tour, I deceided to take his third reich tour as well. He was really able to communicate the depths of the third reich in a way that I had never expierenced before. The tour was augmented by the use of images and videos of the destruction of the second world war and the Hitler and other majior Nazis standing right where we stood. This tour was really able to give me an understanding of how the holocaust came about, something I had never really been able to wrap my head around. Curt took extra time giving us a custom made tour by leading us to different areas based on our specific interests. In addition, he shared stories from holocaust survivors he personally knows. I can only suggest Curts tour as it not only showed me the sights of this dark time, but also taught me a great deal!.

I had a great time with Curt around the beautiful city of Munich. Given his extensive knowledge he is able to communicate both the fun and facinating aspects of the city. I especially loved his knowledge of the little tidbits in the corners of town that I would have walked right past otherwise. Curt is also able to show the darker aspect of this beautiful town, teaching me a great deal of the origins and history of one of the darktest periodes of the city. Even against this backdrop however Curt was always able to keep things fun for the entire familiy and I would suggest his services to anyone!.

Curt’s private tour to Dachau concentration camp was excellent from beginning to end. Curt provided us detailed and easy-to-follow instructions and explained what to expect prior to the tour. My son and I were impressed by his clear explanations and extensive knowledge of the history expressed in the old photos, drawings and amazing stories involve with the survivors he shared with us. We were also impressed by Curt’s care and compassion for his work. We were completely comfortable with his warm and friendly manner; Curt was attentive yet left us the perfect amount of privacy. We recommend his tour absolutely!
