Our family of 5 did the Neuschwanstein day tour, with Gunnar as our host. We had a wonderful day, and could not have asked for a better host or a more enjoyable day in the Bavarian countryside. We visited places and villages off the beaten track, and all with really informative descriptions for Gunnar, who was exceptionally friendly and accommodating... More

My wife and I recently joined the one day tour of Neuschwanstein Castle led by Mario. Top marks to Mario! He really knows his part of the world. Amongst other things, we had a great conversation about how the air mass movement from north Africa and the Atlantic affected the weather in the alps region. The tour took the back... More

My husband and I joined a family of six on this small group tour to Neuschwanstein Castle with our tour guide, Mario. On the way, we drove through a handful of beautiful small villages and stopped in two to visit two beautiful churches. Mario was awesome along the way - he was jovial and easy-going, telling us about what we... More

This review is for the Neuschwanstein and Linderhof day tour. If you only have one day to get out of the city and see the beautiful Bavarian countryside this is the best way to do it. I'm usually one who likes to go about travel on my own, but sometimes it's best to put it in the hands of a... More

My wife and I did the combo castle tour with the owner/operator Mario. I think for the cost it really cannot be beat. The only other way to do what you do on the tour, both castles, small German town, historic church, cheese/sausage farm, picture stops, would be to rent a car. For a couple the cost of renting a... The day spent with Mario (Bavarian local as the name may note suggest) was wonderful! Not only did we get to see Neuschwanstein, but we saw amazing countryside along the way with memorable spots along the way. So wish we would have had more time during our visit to book additional tours. We will be back to see the Eagle's... More

We did two tours with Pure Bavaria and were highly satisfied. Upon reflecting on both tours, neuschwanstein castle and Eagles Nest, I realized what we really paid for. Our guide didn't accompany us into either sight. We were allowed to see both sights at our own pace. What we did pay for was a semi-private ride, several stops along the... More

I can only 'second' what everyone else has been saying here. We hired Pure Bavaria Tours for two different days: one to Neuschwanstein and one to Eagle's Nest. At first I was a bit worried; what if they aren't that good? We're stuck with two days!! How silly of me. We had Gunnar take us around for both tours and... More

Best small group tour. Very knowledgeable and personal guides. Appreciated visiting " off the beaten path" sites such as Wieskirche. Appreciated the flexibility and the drive through the Bavarian countryside along the Via Claudia and " Romantic Road".

I did the Neuschwanstein and Linderhof tour and it was wonderful! We definitely saw and did more than we would have on a regular large bus tour. The comfort of traveling by van instead of bus is also a plus. The real star here is Mario! He is friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour so enjoyable. He has lots... More
