If you want the full German experience with crowded tables, pork based dishes, huge beer glasses and an oomph ha band this is the place to go. It is very, very touristy but a good destination for big groups of people. there are lots of smaller, more intimate beer cellars all within a few hundred meters of here.

Ok I have to admit I loved it here.. yes I was the tourist but to be honest it was very fun. The food was hot the beer was cold and there was lots to see. We had the pork knuckle and it was fantastic. The service was pretty fast consdering how many people were there. We did have to... More

HB encompasses the Bavarian beer hall experience with a live band and huge steins. Tourist trap most of the time but well worth the visit at least once in your life, local or tourist. Helles, dunkel, and Münchner weiße are delicious. Be prepared to squeeze in at someone else's table when you arrive, and have your money ready to pay... More

If you travel to Munich the Hofbrauhaus is an excellent way to spend an evening. The local beer served in large steins is excellent, the food not bad but the vibe is superb. Local music from an oompa pah band with people dancing. Second visit did not disapoint.

Top atmosphere, good bavarian food and beer! Looking at around 20 euros for a steine and your food, so well priced and in a good location to carry on the day/night

One of our travelling companions described this as "the happiest place in the world" and I think it is, especially if you enjoy your beer and pork knuckle! On our first visit it was a Friday night and the Christmas markets were in full swing, so it was very crowded. It was hard to get a seat, but despite being... More

Had to go just for the experience. However, on a Thursday night in February it was really busy, what it would be like in the Summer I dread to think! Table sharing is the norm, and not an easy thing for this repressed Brit to get used to, but if you don't, you don't eat/drink! There was a brass band... More

Fun to see and stop in for a beer. Food is decent, but there are better choices. It's a bit touristy.

This place is INCREDIBLE! It's no wonder it is so popular. The food was amazing. The band was super talented and created a reeeeeally authentically German ambience. I laughed. I marveled at the setting. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. GO HERE!
