I know it is considered a must see by many, but really it is only because you're told it is a must see, that you must. <smile> I'd seen it years ago and really remembered very little - I think I know why now, seeing it again. I don' t know how old it is or the history really, so... More

Everyone wants to see this to say they have seen it. Figures circulate around the clock tower commemorating something or another from hundreds of years ago. The Bavarians (Yeay !) overcome the Austrians (Boo !)

The music starts at 11 am, noon, and 5 pm. The first puppets start moving on the upper level followed by the puppets on the lower level. The street is packed with people waiting for the show. Don't miss it while in Munich

This is one popular attraction, the show is on 11am and 5pm, and additionally on 12pm on Sundays. It is annoying for locals, because the place is totally crowded with tourists, so crossing it is almost impossible. Sometimes you can get a little bit annoyed by the sound because it is played so often - but in the end it... More

The clock tower only does its' big show at noon and 5pm. People start to gather around the base about 15 minutes prior. Try to get there early enough so you can stand in front of and far enough back from the center tower so you can view everything. It's good to see once, and lasts about 15 minutes. Keep... More

waited 20 minutes for it to start. You cant really understand it if you dont know the story behind it. It was nice to see it but wouldnt go the extra mile to see it again. If you take a walking tour they explain the story behing it.

This is a must see in Munich. The Rathaus (new!) is very interesting by itself, but the pefromance must be experienced. The dance of the dolls is accompaniedby music. Just inform yourself on the times of the shows (I think twide a day).

Check out the times when the clock will chime. Lots of people stand and wait - and it goes on for some time so it is hard to keep a phone or camera still for that long - you may want a small tripod or just take stills.
