We were there during the weekend, it was nice , but very crowded, the street was a bit too full, the area has nice shops and restaurants.

A fantastic place to feel the heart of München. Was there on a Sunday, spent 12 Euro on 1.5 liters of excellent beer and just enjoyed the sun and some local performance on a stage. Even if you stick to the small .5 liter beers...More

Plenty of activity apart of the spectacular view of the historic buildings that are around the square. A lot of places for drinks or meals . Concerts and street art are often heard and seen

In Marienplatz, you are immersed in history. But the part I enjoyed most was the lively atmosphere with so many groups holding open air performances.

Lovely looking square right in the middle of the city centre, there are lots of shops and lots of people here! Easy to locate (S-bahn station right here) and in the centre of everything. The buildings are well preserved and look very impressive.

We visited in mid-June and there was some sort of market and fair/festival going on. There were so many people, but it wasn’t a crowd that got in our nerves. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood and enjoying the food and drinks. Really...More
