Can't miss Hugenottenkirche since it is located in front of the train station and from its parking lot the local buses start their route. Also visibly to the pedestrians that walk up and down the main pedestrian road. Next to the McDonalds that is a well known meeting point. So it is in the heart of everything and onoya block away from the Marktplatz. It is built in an austere protestant style but its bell tower is imposing over downtown Erlangen. After the 30 years war the local prince was looking for settlers at the time Louis XIV was kicking the Huguenots out of France. To attract the Huguenots the prince promised them a church and this building was the result. They prospered and the prince prospered. The church is a large, sober place in the Calvinist style. Worth a visit.…

Despite its history, the church is just not very interesting to see. To be honest, we felt that we have seen this church hundreds of times in hundreds of towns.

The highest church in Erlangen,I think.Placed in the maain square of the town,the place were the main Christmas market takes place.The church is not out of common but it has a high,beautiful bell tower.

It's such a beautiful church in the heart of Erlangen Down town. You start seeing it's top even from a far distance. I was lucky enough to see it from the inside because I was told it's not always open during weekdays. And I also heard someone training on the Church Pipe Organ and it was awesome! The church is very old and yet it has some items inside it that are modern just like the take in front of the alter. The drawings on the ceiling are very impressive.…
