There are w few mountains routes near Garmisch - Garmisch Classic is one of the easiest - you can go there with small children, also even with a buggy or stroller. A lot of amazing viewpoints. All part are quite wide, you can decide if to hike/walk next part or take a lift (bahn). Highly recommended for people who are... More

This part of the town (and the rest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen) is enchanting. The river provides opportunities to see ducks swimming, eating and enjoying life in the middle of a busy town. The buildings are beautiful, historic and well-presevered.

It grown up a bit since last time we were here. There's a market once a week which was pretty cool and it's streets are flat and very walker friendly. Can't wait to go back!

This is the most beautiful charming city I have ever seen. Buildings are quaint and the nature scenes spectacular. I live the side street cafes for coffee and cakes/pastries

This is a ticketing arrangement by the Zugspitz cog railway to get you to come back and "do" another mountain on another day at a discount. I was staying in GaP for a weekend so it worked for me. The two mountain trips are different, so it would be a bit off to prefer one to another. But after two... More

Bought the ticket with Zugspitze. Cannot do both on the same day. Take note of a 45 minute walk to reach cable cars at the mountain tops

Slopes are generally good and smooth in the morning, but gets bumpy later in the day after many skiers using it. They separate the beginners area well, and there's a kiddy slope, which then progresses to a beginners slope, and so forth. Each slope has a pulley nearby to bring you to the next difficulty. The ski lift quad chair... More

The Garmish Classic covers both Zugspitze and AlpsPitze for 62 Euros. The To and Fro Trip involves traveling by Mountain Rail + the Cog Rail to the top and Cable Car + Mountain rail to the bottom. If planning to complete everything on the same day, It is easier to visit AlpsPitze first and goto Zugspitze later. On your way... More

My husband and I have been going to Garmisch-Partenkirchen since 2005 and never get tired of going. We just went back again this summer and enjoyed every day we were there. Garmisch has museums, parks, hiking trails, restaurants, shopping. It has it all.

The Garmisch Classic covers both up and down lifts to 2033M using 3 chairlifts and only a 30 minute downhill walk if that's what you want, we missed out the middle lift and walked for about 90 minutes on good but slippy paths. The highlight has to be the cantilever observation platforms quite scary Like the rest of Bavaria once... More
