The exhibition running when we visited was fascinating - and showed costumes and sets throughout the history of the festival. It was also really interesting to see Winifred Wagner's House (which was gorgeous, Art Deco, with a lovely writing room looking out into the garden...More

The museum is located in the very heart of Bayreuth and it's newly renovated. You can't believe your eyes because of the additional new building to the museum. It was like an invisible building. Museum was wonderful and perfect. A must-see place in Bayreuth.

It is interesting to see about his life and work. But honestly a little boring. For my taste not enough interactive. And things you can find online.

The museum is nice and a Mecca to Wagner if you are one of his fans. You can bow at the entrance. :). Lovely gardens are the best part to enjoy.

When I last visited Wahnfried seven years ago, the presentation was tired and somewhat depressing, I did not feel particularly welcome and overall, it had an air of dingy decay. Visiting recently, when attending the Wagner festival, I couldn't have had a more contrasting, and...More

Wahnfried was closed when I visited 2 years ago and was in the process of a massive refurbishment. It opened recently and what an improvement. The original was bombed in the war, so what is on view now is a rebuild. Inside it was a...More

We took the train from Nürnberg to Bayreuth today to visit the Richard Wagner Museum. It was only 19€ return for two adults and it took just under an hour each way. The grounds of the Wagner Museum are beautiful and benches are available to...More
