This museum, devoted to the history of Bayreuth, is simply unmissable for anyone interested in local history. It includes a scale model of Albert Speer's megalomaniacal plan for the extension to the Festspielhaus area, among many other things.

Became more interesting on higher floors. Beautiful china, artifacts, interesting portraits, and furniture from the past. Interesting photography of the town before WW1. Some fabulous 'Kaiser' spiked helmets! Too hot in August ....no air conditioning. Only 2euros admission
