The gardens are very beautiful and ideal to have a stroll during all times. There are certain areas that can get your mind totally out of the sensation of urban life

This is a very big botanical garden which belongs to the university. It's divided into different parts which are reflecting the continents. On a hot August day we walked to this garden from Bayreuth. The glass houses were closed. The walk around the most interesting specimen trees/shrubs/plants etc was totally interesting. Quite uncrowded and the few staff on duty were helpful.

Visited as the outdoor plants were past their best but packed beds still gave an impressive display. Massive scale of a garden all immaculately kept. Indoor climate controlled glass houses similarly packed with big exotic plants (which need some height control). Visited Bayreuth many times but have missed this hidden gem.
