Start with the tour through and excellent museum, continue with the even better Maisel& friends beers, and finish in their superb restaurant.

This place comes highly recommended. The staff is attentive and courteous.

Very nice ancient beer factory now turned into the new place to be in Bayreuth. Professional tour, interesting expositions of glasses and other attributes. Very nice and freshly cooked food. Compared to other restaurants in the area not the cheapest though.

How can you visit Bayreuth without a visit at Maisel’s Brauerei and see how they made the 🍻 from the beginning to the end. You can see the beautiful collection of glass beer.

First class experience, the brewery tour is of a old brewery left intact when the adjacent new brewery was built. Steam engines and generator still in place. The catacombs (cellar vauits) are at the other end of the new brewery and well worth a visit too. There is a new restaurant/bar with a vast range of beers, but book or get there early it was full by 19.00 even weekdays.

We (party of 3) stopped by on a Friday evening for a snack and beer. The restaurant was quite busy, however, seeing room at the end of a long table near the bar, we grabbed the seats. We were soon told that we were supposed to wait to be seated, although there was no sign at the entrance, nor anyone staffing the entrance. [Note there was no language barrier, the other two in our group are German]. The server found us another table, and our order was taken in a somewhat timely manner. Food and beer came out almost immediately! Trying to get a second round was more problematic, and paying the bill was almost impossible. We basically had to get up to leave to get the attention of our server, who had been in a long conversation with a friend. I really like the place, food and beer selection, so the overall service was disappointing. Oh, and the three seats that we originally tried to sit at stayed empty the whole time we were there!

Maisel's is famous for it's wheat beer. This museum has plenty of old machines that still works. Intersting to see how beer was produced in the old days, and after the tour you get to sample Maisel's collection of beers in a nice bar. There is also a little shop where you can buy glasses, towels, coasters, umbrellas, pictures, beer and more.

We stopped here on the way to Munich from Berlin. The lunch was surprisingly great. I had the sausages which were the best I've had in Germany so far. They came on a bed of roast kipfler potatoes and were stylishly presented. My partner had the veggie burger.I had a beer too and came out feeling completely satisfied. Highly recommended, swish place in this quiet town. Didn't do the brewery tour due to lack of time but sounds interesting.

This facility is currently being renovated. Based on conceptual designs displayed, this could very well be worse than it is now. Some architect beer hipster that spent too much time in the USA appears to have sold them a bill of goods.

Now on to the current offering. I love breweries and brewing history. This facility has a lot of cool brewing history, but it lacks quality curating and guides that could give a heck.

Don't confuse this place as a tour of a real brewery. You will spend a disproportionate amount of time looking at an old mechanical room, glass and Mass collection, and brewery advertisements. You will be rewarded at the end by a .5 liter glass of beer you should have just gotten at a beer hall
