We missed the earlier (and faster) approach to the castle, but ended up delighted to view this lovely alpine lake. While we saw it with snow all around, I imagine it's also beautiful other times of the year, too.

Beautiful crystal clear water , amazing views - excellent for family swimming, however is very cold even on the hottest day.. nice way to cool off. This is a must visit with the castle of neuschwanstien.

I didn't aware of Lake Alpsee when i planned for the trip. I rented a car and drove to visit Neuschwanstein. I found Parking P4 the nearest parking to the bus stop to the castle. Lake Alpsee is about 5 minutes walk from bus stop....More
