Beautiful place. Gives a panoramic view of the Walchensee lake and the Alps. The restaurant on top of the mountain was unfortunately closed for the season.

Visited this place with my five and three year old. We took the cable car up and then walked to the summit, it was about a 5k round trip. Nice hat at the top where we had our Picknick. Breathtaking views all round and a...More

Unique view with two different lakes one on each side. Relatively inexpensive with many trails available from the station. Some trails are appropriate for younger children who may do better with a more gradual slope. There are also more challenging trails. A parking attendant will...More

Arrived here around 10am. Paid €3 to park & the cable car was €12.50 for an adult & €11 for a senior. Not sure how often they go up- we didn’t have to wait. They cram up to 30 people in. At the top there...More

I really can’t understand why this is place is not so famous - at least according to its reviews on TripAdvisor. The views on the top are really breathtaking, cablecar ride is very nice and restaurants and hiking up there is also amazing. Don’t miss...More

While you can just take the cable car up and down, we made this into a hike by walking down from the mountain top. But first, you’d rather get from the upper cable car station to the mountain top - the hike is not too...More

Very beautiful view from the top, but cable car will not drop you on the top. There is a road to the top, but requires good physical condition. Small kids cannot go whole trip up and down alone. But, when you reach the top.........

We hiked up Herzogstand and then took the cable car down- so I'm putting the review under the already existing cable car rather than make a new listing for the mountain. The hike is moderately difficult- not because the trail is tricky, it isn't, but...More

Quick drive to the top and back and comparing to many other Alp lifts it was rather cheap. Fast option to those who don't want to hike up.
