The Ulm Munster is an absolute must see. The Munster is a beautiful building and climbing the spire is amazing. I climbed the spire on a cold day last year when I visited and it started to snow as I got higher, it added an...More

The interior of the Ulmer Münster is nice, but what drew me here was the opportunity to climb the world's tallest church tower. The entrance is automated--you buy a ticket at one of two kiosks in the tower lobby and scan it to gain admittance...More

That's one tall steeple! Did not climb it. So big I couldn't get far enough away to get it all to fit in the picture. The market was taking place on the square in front of it and there was scaffolding on the right side,...More

Climbed right up to the top! Just as you think you have reached as far as you'd be allowed, another few levels appear in front of you. In fact, the climb goes right up to the pinnacle. Good place to start a tour of Ulm...More

Visited it during a walk in the town with biker friends and we are amazed of how huge this building is. We tried to climb the steps but they were closing

You pay 5 euros to climb on the tower, and it totally worths it, be ready for a tight walk upstairs, the stairs is quite narrow and it can feel claustrophobic. But every step you take worth the money you pay, as a note i...More

His is one of the better Cathedrals to visit in Germany. Not only is Ulm a nice town to visit off the typical North American tourist track, this Cathedral is well worth the stop for its beauty and it being so well kept.

Planning on doing a 1 hour stop-over in Ulm whilst traveling by train from Stuttgart to Munich. Do you think 1 hour is enough time to get from the train station to the Munster and back again? We would also like to look at the Rathaus (Town Hall) and Stadtbibliothek if there is time, plus even the Metzgerturm tower and gate and The Leaning House. GoogleMaps has them all within a 250m circle and less than 1km from the station. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're going to the Munster, you really should climb it (if physically able) ... That alone will take an hour.
Would like to know how long does it take to climb to the top of the Munster? We understand it has 786 steps , but what is the typical length of time? Thanks

It's a corkscrew all the way up and same trail coming down. The stairs are narrow so it's a tight squeeze passing people up and down so this adds to the climbing time. If you're a "wide" person things get tough. The climb... More
