I found the architecture in Nurnberg and Munich more vibrant than in Schillerplatz, though what affected me the most was the sheer number of people during the Christmas Market. On the first day that I went, it was so crowded that it was difficult to move around. On the second day, it was much less crowded, so I had a chance to soak up the atmosphere which was delightful. The people were friendly, Christmas market was well designed and food was yummy. There were laughter, people socializing and connecting with one another, it was a very good Christmas feeling.

Really liked it at the Schillerplatz... It immediately captures the attention with its Germanic building styles and the church. Well worth a look.

You do not necessarily need to be an historian to appreciate the amazing amount of detail to their historic buildings and sheer size and planning, Be sure to take an official guide as they will be enthusiastic about sharing the story and have great detail . Stuttgart has amazing places around in particularly everything Mercedes-Benz from the factory to the World Class Mercedes-Benz Museum ,
Great Restaurants and landmarks , a lot of cobble stones, the gardens are tidy , may not be as vibrant as Berlin however be sure to put this city on your list.

I don't think you should visit this city without wandering around Schillerplatz. It features distinctive buildings, with shops and restaurants all around in the streets and alleys. Most of what you want to see in the city center is right around here, walking distance. Highly recommended.

From November to December, this area is used for meetings because of a Christmas Market Place, with amusement park and local food tents.

Every Saturday there is an antique market. This month there will also be Fischfest. There are events here that make this spot worth checking out.

The Schillerplatz is " old Stuttgart " located behind the Stiftskirche or just a few steps from Schlossplatz. It is nice, small historical square, the Farmers market takes place here and of course the annual Christmas Market... come and visit you will adore it...

Two nights, three day visit to Stuttgart to enjoy a proper German Christmas market. We were not disappointed! Very clean indeed.

We went to the old town while it was dark! It is well lit up and the lighting is well done! It shouldn't be missed on a trip to Stuttgart!

The centre of "old" Stuttgart is a linked series of squares - this is the smallest. Around are the Stiftkirche, Haus der Music, Old Castle etc. In the centre a statue of the man himself. He was born in Marbach, down river (there are boat trips to the village, very pretty). Artisan fruit and veg market some mornings. Pass through toi Marktplatz
