A large Art Deco markethall, round the back of Marktplatz. Dazzling white concrete beams with quirky detrails in green ceramic and coloured glass. The labels describe it a Jungenstihl - which covers Art Deco & Nouveau; but this place is more what we call Deco. The stalls - an outstanding selection of meat, chees, breads, confectionary. I defy you to leave without buying something! Several cafes. High end outlets upstairs

A great destination for any foodie. So glad we were staying in a condo for a week so we could purchase some of the wonderful foods. Chocolate was wrapped in clear cellophane so you could see exactly what you were getting. My grandsons loved being able to choose their favorites. Also many choices of olives, pates, cheese, breads, sausage, etc..... Advise going early because it became quite crowded while we was there shopping. Merchants very gracious about samples (glad I know a little German). Take Euros because credit cards not used in many booths. Having your own shopping bag is also a help when buying lots of items in different places.

As an Englishman this was a real eyeopener. It is what you might call an indoor market but it is way beyond anything I have ever seen in the UK. The stalls are laden with fresh fruit and veg, hundreds of different cheeses, thousands of different spices and many kinds of Bread and that is just the start. I recommend a visit to anyone as a excellent example of what a Food Market should be.

Market halls are one of my must-visits when I travel, so I had to check out Stuttgart's. Well, lots of tasty looking treats, but waaay beyond this reviewer's budget. If I wanted to grab a little of this and that for a lunch in the nearby plaza, I 'd likely walk out 15 euro poorer. I can't see your average 'Berger' choosing to spend money here. If however money is no object for you, you might enjoy.

Markthalle has two stories of food stalls selling different types of food from all over the world. The price is a bit expensive, but if you're a foodie or a connoisseur, you will enjoy this place.

I was during my holidays in July, and I found this as a lovely place, very good meats and wines. I was in a small corner where the Spanish owners were, they make delicious ham sandwiches and they are super friendly.

I hope to return next year and visit them.

A hug from the Dominican Republic!

This is one of my favorite places in Stuttgart. The atmosphere is exciting and the food is fabulous. If you enjoy seeing local cheeses and breads and desserts, this is the place to visit!

Lovely indoor market area with large amount of fresh produce from meat, cheeses, seafood, breads, olives and many other products. Worth a look and maybe buy some goodies. As we are from the Southern Hemisphere there were a few things we hadn't seen before as inthe fish species. Located just off main shopping street.

Yes, the whole market is great with everything you can think of foodwise as well as souvenirs on the upper floor. But the real treat is the typical regional Schwaben food offered in the Restaurant Markthalle an annex to the Market. Reasonable prices, nice service, quiet and used by the locals probably after shopping nearby. A nice change from so many Italian or other ethnic restaurants everywhere else. You feel like you are in Germany. Highly recommended for low key but good dining.

Large indoor market packed with food stalls. Naturally lots of sausages, bread and cheese, but also a lot of wider European delicatessen like olives, vegetables, oils and wine.
If you are passing, make the effort to walk through, there are exits on all sides.
Round the corner from the main square at the town hall (exit opposite the Rathaus, next to Breuninger department store)
