this center has something for everyone.
Just don't try opt for the combined entry fee. Visit Media Technology center and the Art Museum on different days.
Make sure you have something substantial to eat beforehand as there are a three levels of exhibitions in the media section.
The cross border exhibition by contemporary female artists- Arabian Mediterranean Region was really inspiring.

The museum is a contemporary art museum which exhibits different expositions at the same time.
The expostions vary greatly, but all are in connection to technology and/or visual arts .
I've found some excellent artpieces and enjoyed the interactivity there was between visitor and a lot of artworks.

Depending on the exhibition the museum is also very childfriendly.

What i also like is that the museum has a free entry policy, every Friday starting from 2 PM.

Overal a very recommendable visit. And a must to for any tech head or contemporary art fan.

I have been there more than once, and i would go again. The second time I was there with my sister, but because they were renovating the museum we could just see a small part of it. So I think i wanna see how it looks now. I think the museum is something special, not like regular museums. The only weird part are the videos on the tvs. The rest is really cool, specially the room with light bulbs. On fridays is free.

We went here because of the reviews and were not disappointed. It cost 10 Euros for a family ticket but we soon lost the children to the interactive exhibits. I am unsure how much they learned as there was no option for a foreign guidebook, but the curators were approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. My highlight was the computer gaming floor, and reminiscing over systems for which I have written games to be downloaded by cassette tape or true floppy disc!

Housed in an old armaments factory, there is a combination of modern art, history of computers and mobile phones, and a huge inter-active section full of electronic wizardry and games which delighted the teens! The museum specializes in media of all types and had something to appeal to adults and children. There is currently a "Car Culture" exhibition which comprises large sculptures of vehicles with contributors from around the world. Hard to describe them but they were incredibly thought-provoking e.g. a really long stretch limo whose body was made up of old white shirts, 2 wooden 4-wheel drive cars contesting the need for such size in cities. Best museum ever according to the 15 and 13 year olds! Free access on Fridays after 2 pm.

The ZKM is a former ammunition factory 3 storey tall. It is converted into a set of 6 museums in interesting fashion. Due to limited time we saw the code museum. It has facial recognition, bitcoin production and a robot which writes legal documents. It’s a very interesting experience where history and sociology catch up with technology.

A mind-bending experience! The free booklet, 'Living in Digital Worlds', looks like a good read. Don't worry about what the experience is about - if you can spare an hour, go! There's no entrance charge. A couple of moans: the outside signage to the main entrance of ZKM is poor, and you need to look hard for the German / English-language notes (in quite small print) for each display in 'Open Codes' since some are at knee-height and some at chest-height; only a few are at eye-level! Why? Anyway, worth a detour.
