Turmberg castle was mostly destroyed by invaders, but the tall lookout tower has been preserved. It is a great scenic walk by many, many steps up to the base of the tower (or there is a ride provided for a fee). The walk is good exercise! Once we got to the base, we enjoyed a picnic lunch overlooking the city.... More

Beautiful views, on a clear day you can see forever. Nice play area for kids. Have seen the rope walkways, not had a chance to try it yet. But definitely is on the 'To Do' list.

Visited this location during my most recent visit to Germany. You can see for miles from the top of the tower. Great place to get exercise climbing stairs! Simply beautiful way to spend an hour or more.

Turmberg offers a beautiful view of the city and the rhine river. It is hard to catch the view with the camera, but it's worth seeing. In additon, the road to turmberg and the surroundings is also a great piece of nature.

This attractive town has a 10 minute tram service from Karlsruhe and has attractive architecture throughout its main street. Many restaurants and coffee shops with delicious gateaux and cakes permit time to relax with friends. A funicular transports passengers to the Turmberg from where excellent views can be obtained to many locations including Worth and towards Bad Wilbad and Ettlingen

very nice experience, great view, great tram ride. The tower in in itself is nothing fancy, but really old (12th century). If not claustophobic one might attempt to clime the circular stairs on very narrow corridors

We drove up to the tower, but if you're wanting to enjoy a little train ride up the hill, that is offered. You'll get your exercise climbing the 5 stories of stairs, and the view is truly great. Even if you don't climb the tower you'll enjoy a good view of Karlsruhe and the surrounding area.

Turmberg is a nice thing to do if you are in Karlsruhe and have some time. If you walk until the top like we did, you won't need other exercise for the rest of the day. If you are not so mobile, you can take some kind of escalator/cable car to the top, which costs around 1.50 euro, If you... More

if you're lazy and can't climb so up, for 5 euro/ 2 pers. a kind of a train will took you there. I reccomand to go there with friends and have a beer, take a snack, walk through the forest, view the city from up and so on. Don't miss this place ( also look down for La Cubanita restaurant.... More
