We arrived into the historic town of Heidelberg and after brunch met up with Henry for the 4 hr bike tour to Laudenburg. Henry's funny, engaging, and likeable disposition kept us interested and involved the entire time. The fall foliage and beautiful landscape made it a truly memorable experience. Defintely a must do with Henry if you're in the Heidelberg area. Thanks again Henry we had a wonderful time.

I purchased our tour based on the reviews I read here. Henry was having an off day, he was late, told us little history of market square where the tour started. We walked to the funicular, with very little 'walking tour history' of Heidelberg. When we arrived we were unaware of the extra cost of €8 each to ride up to the castle. During this whole time there has not been an ongoing talk about the history of the city. We were consistently only asked, "Do you have any questions?" For a $108 each We expected a tour guide to provide a consistent narrative of Heidelberg history, especially since he lives there. He was thoughtful and bought me a chocolate bar for my birthday at the castle wine tasting. :) It was unfortunate that he couldn't remember my name and kept calling by the other persons name in our party of two. I would not reccomend paying for this tour. In his words "the Free walking tours are good, during Corona." you just tip €10 after them. That would have been good to know before hand!!! Also, we didn't go to the Old Bridge as stated in the guide. He just said he had to go pick up his daughter. Peace to you Henry. Teresa and Dorothy Teresa and Dorothy

Hello Teresa & Dorothy, Thankyou for taking the time to write a review & i ‘hear’all of your valid comments However please allow me to respond to some of your observations; - Heidelberg has over 900 years of history, which i cannot condense into a 2.5hrs tour which also needs to be half comprised of a wine tasting. Therefore my policy is to focus on the area’s of history my clients express a particular interest in. In your case, for example, you seemed keen to know more about Jews in german history and i remember giving you my own comprehensive response to this multifaceted subject. Of course i’m sorry if your need for more history was not met but i find it better to talk about what interests people rather than impart superfluous information. - in the write up of the tour it does state very clearly under,’Exclusions’ - the funicular railway & entry into the Castle. (which is an €8 p/p combination ticket). Apologies if u missed this information. - i recall talking quite a lot on your tour so your comment about there being ‘no ongoing talk of the history of the city’ is puzzling & possibly relates to my point above. Again sorry if your need for more history was not met. - it is true that i did not always remember your name & i’m sorry for that. Many tours, many customers, many names but generally i consider myself good at remembering names. - there are indeed cheaper free walking tours of Heidelberg but i believe my tours offer a more personal, richer & deeper experience of this beautiful city. - yes, it was indeed your birthday and i did buy you some fine German chocolate. I’m glad you enjoyed it. - we did not stand directly on the Old Bridge but we did get a wonderful view of it from the Castle balcony. The stated itinerary tends to provide more of an overview than step by step rundown of the tour. I have learnt that an element of spontaneity adds a sense of welcome ‘freshness’ to a tour. It was, for me, a pleasure to show you around Heidelberg & i’d be happy to welcome you again. Yours sincerely, Henry.
