Fun to be there, nice view. The cable cart takes you up to the top of a mountain and there are some walking trails available. Not a "must" location but pretty.

Baden Baden is not big on family attractions, so we decided to walk all the way from Festspeilhaus to the funicular. Nice view from the top, and we had a nice (if hot) walk over.

We arrived early at the kiosk and were the first up the mountain. The weather in late April was lovely. We walked on the trail at the top of Merkur Moutain and soaked up the spectacular 360 degree view!

This was so easy to find and relatively inexpensive. The views were fantastic! You could spend hours up at the top. Great for kids too. Nice cafe at the summit and not too overly priced.

What a treat - we were the only two in the funicular and in control of pressing the start button. Really steep ride with incredible views en route. Longer journey than many funiculars we have done before and well worth it.

I would say this is a must see, even for the non outdoors type. You can hike to the top or you can take the railcar. You can spend a long time or a short time, there is a cafe at the top but it...More
