Quite nice to look at ...

Of volcanic origin, Paravani lake is located in the Javakheti plateau. I stopped at different locations to photograph it so as to get the real perspective of its size. I was told it freezes during wintertime, reaching from 57 to 73 cm of thickness, which sounds unbelievable.

Beautiful Lake in a Beautiful Country

Another gorgeous, photogenic opportunity in this country loaded with photo opps. This is the largest lake in all of Georgia and bright blue water meeting blue sky is a sight to behold. Bring your camera, take a respite from travel and breathe deep.

Holiday in Georgia

Our drive to and from the Lake was amazing. The beautiful view of the lake, clouds, mountains was spectacular. A must visit for family and all. The water was beautiful as were the surroundings

Not sure why this is "an attraction" on TripAdvisor. It's a large, but rather shallow, volcanic lake at some 2km above sea level. Apparently it freezes over solidly during winter - at which time it may be more interesting to visit.
In summer, it's easy to make a quick stop because it's adjacent to the main road.

Near Ninotsminda is the largest lake in Georgia and it is a great location and quite scenic. It is cold in the area but in the Summer is a great location for a nice picnic.

Near the main road, quiet, unaffected place. No need to come here on purpose. Nice view, few life around.
