My first heli boarding experience. I was picked up at my accommodation by the guys from val heli ski, really nice guys. We were taken to La Rosière and all the equipment we needed was provided and they explained easily how to fit correctly and use. From there we were guided to the heli pick up point in la thuile. Met with the guide Marco, who was great. He explained clearly what to do when waiting for, boarding and exiting the helicopter. It was both exciting and nerve inducing. A proper adrenaline rush. So after drop off the guide Marco led us down some really awesome, completely untracked powder runs. On the 2 drops there was a couple of places we needed to walk to get to fresh lines, which we were all more than happy to do and were asked if that was fine before we were taken on those 2 routes. Marco always put the first steps in on the walks, one very fit guy as the powder was at least 2 foot deep! What a day. Thanks to everyone at val heliski that I met or dealt with. Really awesome guys. And Marco!

We were picked up by Ryan at our hotel in Val d’Isere and driven to La Rosière to meet our guide Chris. We did a little off-piste between the blue runs to warm up and then skied to meet the helicopter that flew us to a mountain peak just over the border in Italy. The drop was an incredibly professional operation that had us out the helicopter in no time. As the noise of the chopper disappeared we looked around to find we were on a summit with spectacular views and total silence. Nobody was in sight, just the most beautiful untouched powder snow and blue sky. Chris our guide was fantastic and led us down the mountain with good tips on how to handle the conditions. It’s expensive so we’d only signed up for one drop, but by the time we were half way down the mountain we’d made up our minds we were going for another! It was a truly fantastic day.

Awesome experience with valheiski, they went the extra mile to make sure I got picked up and dropped off so I could make the trip from La Plagne to le Rosière, Ryan who picked me up was also our off piste tour guide after the one drop we did and very good fun to ride with, our guide for the Heli drop was an awesome Italian lady who’s name I have forgotten, the conditions were not the best but we still got to ride loads of forest virgin snow nearer the top, and even got to do some absailing while still on board/skis due to heavy ice, Dom and Ryan are top lads and I would definitely recommend giving it a go 🚁🏂⛳️💨💨

I received a day for my birthday with 1 helicopter pick up. We were added to a WhatsApp group on the Sunday so we started receiving information early as our trip was planned for Tuesday. This also meant each group member could share pictures after the day. We were met next to our hotel at a prearranged location. Quickly got our kit sorted after being met by helpful and friendly staff, Sam and Ryan. Our guide arrived (Chris) and was very friendly and knowledgeable about Tignes and the surrounding resorts. As you can’t get dropped off at the top in France you have to expect some Trekking otherwise you will be doing simple runs. I got to explore areas I would not have ventured into and I’m use to off piste boarding. We started at 9 and didn’t get back until gone 5. A full day and completely exhausted. It’s proper off piste boarding so expect to put some effort in. A great experience and one I will look at doing again. Big thanks to Chris, Sam and Ryan. I’ve read some of the negative comments and I didn’t experience any issues raised. If it was a challenge I wouldn’t have enjoyed it. Happy heliskiing. 👍
