Daniel is amazing. 2-hr lesson for two.
Jan 2020 • Couples
My husband and I haven’t skied in 16 years.
We did a 2 hr skiing lesson with a wonderful instructor,(who even understood some Afrikaans), he speaks 5 languages. Daniel even took us down a black slope. We loved it, and saw so many areas we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Gentle and patient instructor who inspires confidence. Thank you.

Well what a display, Just magnificent
Feb 2019 • Family
We have only ever skied Banff, Whistler-Canada, and Beaver Creek Colarado. So when our son asked us to go to Europe for his 40th birthday and a ski holiday, we was very unsure, well we went to Val-d’isère and now home and missing Val-d’isère madly, to the point we are looking to return very soooooon.
We was absolutely elated with the show your brilliant and extremely talented instructors displayed, we can’t thank you enough for making our first Europe ski break a magnificent one.
Please pass on our huge Thank You’s to all the team and those behind the scenes to help make that show a brilliant one .

They really cared
Feb 2019 • Family
The ski instructors really seemed to make an effort to ensure that all skiers were in groups that matched their ability exactly,e.g. the Etage 1 group was splintered into a faster and slower group, which I really liked. The coaches were nice - all in, a great experience. I'd book with them again.

Great instructors/guides!
Jan 2019 • Couples
We skied in Val d'Isere for a week in January.
We stayed at Club Med, however the ski instructors were part of ESF.
I only have superlatives for those guys!
We had 2 different instructors. The first one , Olivier -had other clients booked in advance ,so he could not be with us for the whole week. After he"tested " us-he took us all over, off piste -and we had a blast.
The second guide was also very friendly and we went ski touring.Even though it didn't snow for 10 days, the guides were able to find for us every day powder runs.
The second guide had with him also a bottle of wine and some delicious "saucisson "-and after great powder runs we feasted.
Will love for those guys to guide us next time!

Ok but basically jerks
Feb 2019
Their reputation precedes them. If you are not French don't bother is the common word on the street. But this was who the hotel recommended and had arrangements with so I used them for an off-piste guide. He showed me some great places and good snow but relentlessly harped on a couple of things I didn't do up to his standards. This was not really a lesson and I'm aware that I'm not a professional or expert skier. However, I'm fairly advanced. I don't mind criticism and welcome the opportunity to improve but give it a rest! Not one time did he have to wait on me and we went down every run together efficiently but he never shut up. I am the customer paying 500 euro to be guided not to listen to his voice all damn day. He also demanded we stop for lunch. After I bought him a nice 1 1/2 hour 80 euro lunch, at the end of the day he stayed we could have done more had we not stopped for lunch. ?????!!!! I never stop for lunch skiing just with him. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these clowns. My wife is in a group lesson with them and it seems to be going well, but still the same condescending behavior. Perhaps American guides or instructors are too gentle but there is a happy medium. I think it's called Austria. I would not use them again. For the record none of the shops around town like them either.

Very good instructors
Jan 2019 • Couples
Paid for couple of ski lessons and ESF are deffinitly cut above other ski school.

The instructors are local so they know the mountains very well. It helps if your plan is supervised off piste adventure.

If you are beginner you might as well try another ski schools (probbably cheaper too) but for advanced level ESF instructions are are deffinitly the best!

Advice: morning lessons are much more expencive.

instructors to cater to specfic needs
Jan 2019 • Family
Most ski schools are adequate in what is, in essence, one of the best ski destinations in the region.
Your needs are easily and accurately met.

Guides are competent, safe, friendly and eloquent in English (if your French is sub-par).

Rey Michel rocked the lessons taking me down progressively steeper slopes.

2x children private lessons.
Dec 2018 • Family
Our instructor was ok - he was with our children for 4 days and 3 hours' each day. The last day he brought his own daughter with him which was a little annoying (as we had paid for private lessons!), but otherwise he gauged their ability and went on good slopes. Perhaps could have done more, but equally not wishing to scare them or put them off. He came to the hotel (Le Yule) and dropped them back there. Was good value although perhaps his manner was a little 'cool'...

Had a great time!
Apr 2018 • Solo
Having skied previously and lost my confidence I thought it best that this time I went skiing I book some private lessons in the hope to get my confidence back. I went for 2 days of the 4 hour one to one option.

My instructor Ben was amazing, very patient, funny and knew every last inch of the resort. He told me he had been teaching there for 20 years which doesn’t surprise me as the teaching was impeccable and by the end of my lessons I felt a lot more comfortable on my skis. He even took me down part of a red which I never thought would happen!

When we come back next year I will definitely be having further lessons and would recommend anyone visiting Val d’Isere do the same with ESF.
