No doubt a great way to commute to the top of the hill where the Basilica of Lyon stands still!!! Use the park pathways to descent the hills!!! A pleasant little walk instead paying for the funicular again!!!

Unfortunately I did not get to ride the tram as it was broken or down for repairs and or maintenace. This tram would make it much easier to get to the top of the hill to see the church.

But the views are not really noteworthy because it is partway through a tunnel and the north-south views aren't really much. But it sure beats walking up to the top of Fourviere!

Once you arrive at Vieux Lyon on the Metro, come up the escalator and turn left to the escalator signed for the Funiculaires. This is free and takes you through the hillside up to Fourviere.

We stayed in the Fourviere area, so this darling little funicular saved us every day. It's the same cost as a ride on the rest of the metro system, and runs fairly frequently.
