Beautiful grand Square. Lots of character. One of the biggest, that I have seen, in Europe. Great views all around. One can get all the tourist information here & lots of bus connections too.

We visited the Office of Tourism and Congress of Metropolis of Lyon for some advice on things we should be seeing. As it turned out the staff, although extremely busy on the day were quite friendly and provided us with plenty of information about some of the most interesting sights in and around Lyon. They did try to sell us some tickets but we did not buy any, as we prefer to go on our own and at our own pace. However for people who prefer otherwise this is an excellent point to start a visit to Lyon.

We visit the office to receive information for traveling to Annecy and Perouge. We where assist by Rachel in Spanish. She was very helpful, although she didn't have so much information about transport to that little villages, due to the train strike. Thank you Rachel:-D

I recently had over some friends from England who wanted to learn about French wines. We went to the Office of Tourism to ask for information on wine tasting excursions or wine tasting events in English. We were given information in French only. It never ceases to amaze me how arrogant some tourist services can be, assuming that tourists can speak the local language.

We went to the Pavillon du Tourisme on Place Bellecour for information and we met Prisca who was incredibly helpful with her suggestions. We followed her indications and found every bit of interesting things she mentioned and were never dissapointed. We wish to find such a lovely and direct person like her in every tourist information booth in the world.
