We visited this little theatre in July.
It is small and atmospheric.
We really enjoyed the performance although we could not understand everything because it is obviously all in french. It was easy however to follow.
The puppeteers are brilliant and we were all given the opportunity to see behind the scenes after the performannce.
It is well worth a visit because Guignol and his friends are such a big part of the history of Lyon.

The tourism office suggested a show to take my 5 yr old. I didn't expect to understand a lot, and I wasn't sure how much my daughter would get having been living in France for 5-6 months. But it was great. We both understood and enjoyed the show. It was well geared toward children but with a nice smattering of humor for the adults. Intimate environment. We arrived early and sat in the front row. I agree with another reviewer that the seating is such that children not in the front may not be able to see easily. In the front, we didn't have that problem. If you buy a city pass, the entry fee is included! Our February visit was during the vacances scolaires....so there were many showings each day.

Coming as we do from the city of Liège where we have our very own puppet Tchantchès we wanted to see his Lyon counterpart, Guignol the canut or silkworker, and we wanted the real experience with kids, not a museum, and we had it all. It was great.

Felt like a "mass" production for tourists... and even for the kids ... the sitting arrangement resulted in obstructed view.
