Visited on a river cruise and was very impressed by the elegant buildings by the river. The Basilica is wonderful, but is on top of a very high hill! The old town is cobbled and quaint. Our guide took us through secret passage ways which link the streets and have been useful in the past to evade enemies. We visited... More

The name for the section of Lyon with 2 rivers separating it from the old and new parts of the city. The confluence was amazing, teeming with fish and easy to walk to. Here you can see the Rhône and Saône join. Very peaceful spot

Nice weather, lovely neighborhood and just walk and choose your favorite area to eat, full of shops in the heart of Lyon, crowded but a wonderful place with its famous Bellecour and the fountain of the Republique.

Superb area in Lyon with so much to see and do! If you have one day, explore this area but it would be a shame to do it so quickly. Bring good shoes, a huge memory card and a good guide book. Don't forget to look up to see all the marvelous details of so many great Renaissance buildings. You... More

This is the centre of the city, full of shops, restaurants and beautiful buildings. Each to their own, but I preferred the old town and Fourvière hill.

We were lucky with the weather and had a chance to wander around and eat and drink in this area. It is perfectly poised between the two rivers and a delightful place to head to when in Lyon. Location is all.....

This is quite an elegant district, one of the nicest in the modern part of Lyon. The Old part of Lyon. Vieux Lyon is, of course, incomparable, but this area is quite pleasant, full of shops and eateries to your heart's content. We went up and down the lovely streets of this district during our five day stay in Lyon... More

Presqu'ile is a peninsula between the business and residential part of Lyon and Vieux Lyon. It is notable chiefly for its shopping and a plethora of pedestrian only streets. There are a number of pleasant squares and many nice shops and restaurants. The are also some very nice buildings, so it is definitely worth a visit.

This is a great location to stay in Lyon especially if you are staying here for a short while. There are lovely monuments, fountains and squares all within walking distances. Some of the best shopping is in this area. A truly interesting place but beware its very crowded. The old town is just a short walk from here.
