We went on a Sunday and were amazed just how energetic the Lyonnaise were. Runners and cyclists galore. Very large park to the northeast of the Rhone opposite Pont Winston Churchill. It has botanic gardens, large lake, rose gardens, a small zoo and lots of activities for children. Very pretty and worth a visit to get away from the hubbub... More

Walked through it every day for a week. Never got tired of it. The atmosphere is great and the greenery is very well maintained.

Lots of walkways, benches to relax on while watching children playing or gawking at the zoo - free zoo, by the way. A little short on amenities, food and drink, but still a great park.

We didn't have much time so our destination was the rose garden, and we were not dissapointed. The park itself is very spacious, with losts of trees and flowers, and you can also rent a boat at the lake. The rose garden is big with various types of roses. A really nice place to spend a lazy afternoon or a... More

Free zoo in the middle of the city , not too crowded. Large parc, with loads of playgrounds for kids and cycle lanes

So much more than a park! A small zoo, rose gardens, children/amusement area with classic merry round, a huge lake and green space everywhere. Take a special picnic and spend the entire day.

This park, close to the centre of Lyon, is a mecca for rose lovers. It had wonderful displays of bedded roses as well as some trial gardens of new roses. The lake is filled with ducks and geese which will squabble over your crusts

Not showing off, but an excellent place with old trees and a lot of peace and quiet. a lot of investment has ben put recently, and you have less animal focus, more flowers and trees and lovely walks.
